Be prepared for fireworks and plenty of hot air with the Full Moon in Aquarius opposing the Sun in Leo at 3° 00″ on July 25, 2010 6:37 PM PDT, as there are no planets in water signs in this chart and consequently the ability to empathize with others will be difficult to access.
There are two major patterns formed: First, the now notorious cardinal T-square with Uranus and Jupiter in Aries opposing Saturn in Libra and both square to Pluto in Capricorn; and second, a Mystic Rectangle with the Sun in Leo opposing the Moon in Aquarius, Saturn in Libra opposing Uranus-Jupiter in Aries (all four planets are also joined by either trines or sextiles).
To me the most interesting part is the way these two patterns connect via the Sun and Moon suggesting there is an outlet for the energy building within the T-square. The cool rationality of air represented by the Moon in Aquarius and Saturn in Libra blends well with the fiery drive of the Leo Sun and Jupiter-Uranus in Aries. It would appear we can either have lively, informative discussions or knockdown, drag out brawls, the choice is up to us as individuals. Of course, my preference is to keep my mouth shut, steer clear of reading inflammatory posts online, ignore all but the local news and weather report on the TV and read only the comics in the newspaper . . . keeping my stress levels in check is critical for my health and well being!
The greatest challenge with the Mystic Rectangle has to do with how well fire and air signs relate to one another, creating the potential for righteousness and arrogance. Both Sabian symbols for the Sun and Moon hint at this possibility. The Moon at 4 Aquarius, “A Hindu healer glows with a mystic healing power” and the Sun at 4 Leo, “A man formally dressed stands near trophies he brought back from a hunting expedition”.
While the symbol for the Moon can signify deep healing, it can also mean taking too much on faith without checking to see if claims made are not just smoke and mirrors. The symbol for the Sun is very much about the need to impress others and behaving in an egocentric manner, not exactly conducive to forbearance and humility. Everyone is feeling the pressure of the cardinal T-square at this time and can use all the sanity and good sense we can muster.
The best argument for postponing any serious discussions at this time is the opposition between Mercury in Leo and Neptune in Aquarius. It will be exact on July 26, the day after the Full Moon. In the days leading up the Full Moon, facts could get so blown out of proportion the ability to figure out what is really going on will be extremely difficult. Once Mercury moves into its home sign of Virgo on July 27, the confusion will rapidly clear up and leave those who went way out on the proverbial limb with red faces.
Mars is in Virgo and inconjunct Neptune in Aquarius giving us yet another reason to delay taking action because here again Neptune’s influence creates problems with finding a clear direction. However Mars also is about ready to change signs and moves into Libra, conjoining Saturn, on July 29. This will likely prove to be a very sobering experience for Mars (and anyone with planets or Angles 0° to 3° Libra) because Saturn in Libra pretty much demands a sensible, structured approach to tasks.
Ceres, now retrograde in Sagittarius, squares Venus in Virgo leaving me with the impression this is not the best time to head out to play. Neither Ceres nor Venus is in signs where they are most comfortable. Sagittarius is far too fiery and unpredictable for Ceres who is a strong believer in proper cycles and good timing, and Virgo in general is not fun loving enough for Venus. Now if you have creative projects that need wrapping up, this square IS good for that!
I intend to mind my own business as much as possible for the time being, stick with my general policy of treating others with kindness and respect and wait for improving celestial weather to open any and all negotiations. Besides . . . I have family coming to town between now and the Full Moon and that always absorbs any extra time and energy I have between getting ready, visiting and cleaning up after.
