Observations: Post Saturn-Uranus Opposition Musings

While yesterday’s exact Saturn-Uranus opposition only made one set of aspects to my natal Venus in Sagittarius (a sextile and trine), it still left me feeling stunned and silenced due in large part to the intense activity leading up to it.

Last week turned out to be a whirlwind of family gatherings at my home. My beloved Aries niece, her Aries husband and their delightful but extremely busy three year old Aquarius daughter came for a visit on Thursday along with both of my sisters and our father. I usually avoid playing hostess for my extended family like the plague because it is exhausting – fun but exhausting. However, I really love my niece and haven’t seen her in nine years nor had I met her husband and daughter, so I made an exception because she wanted to see the old home place she had so many fond memories of visiting growing up. Lots and lots of prep work involved for that event and lots of work cleaning up after.

A day or so later, my Gemini stepdaughter, her Aries husband and their buzz bomb of a three year old Pisces Sun-Aries Moon daughter spent the better part of the day. We all had a great time but they ended up staying much longer than planned, so My Aries husband was grummeling and growling about all the things he didn’t get done.

Uranus is still in my fourth house and Saturn in my tenth but this time I was more aware of how relationships were the source of stress rather than work vs. household matters. Note the number of Aries people all wanting my Libra attention and me feeling the need to give it to them, and in the process exhausting myself and my resources. Now it is time to start regrouping and taking time to rebuild my own energy.

Mars and Venus will be moving into Libra in the next couple of weeks, joining Saturn (and opposing Jupiter-Uranus in Aries). This places more weight on the Libra side of the scales. As with any opposition we have the choice of seeing this as an opportunity for dialogue or deepening conflict. It is up to us as individuals to decide because for some this might be just the trigger they need to break free of an oppressive situation while others may receive information allowing them to settle long standing differences.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition is just one part of the whole cardinal crush in the sky and I find it easier to get my mind around the big picture by looking at each aspect as it becomes exact. Otherwise it can be overwhelming to contemplate and that makes me want to go stick my head in the sand. :-D

Yeah, I’m feeling this a lot lately. Thankfully the Full Moon lit up my Aquarius and illuminated an area where I was in the dark, so at least I know where to go.

Good! Mercury moving into Virgo and away from opposing Neptune is helping my brain begin to function once more.

I’ve been surprised by how little I’ve been feeling these energies. I have some things scheduled for late August and I’m already looking at THOSE things. I should slow down and pay attention to what’s going on in the moment, methinks.

      Hey Nic,

Keep an eye out when Mars moves into Libra tomorrow and starts squaring your natal Mars. In general, Mars transits tend to get Aries’s attention (as well as Scorpio’s since Mars rules both signs). Aries in general like a little adrenaline rush now and again . . . :D

speaking as one whose head is in the sand? good plan.

oh, and guess what? it’s raining again. pitch black at 11:00 a.m. So let’s see…in april, it rained 2-1/2″. In May, it rained 5-1/2″ in one day and then nothing else for the rest of that month…until the last week of June. No rain. big water bills. Now, July? 22-1/2″ at my house.

I’m taking a spinning class on Saturday. My mother forgot she was having lunch with me last Saturday. I have gone knitting crazy. Now, head back in the sand. which is, at least on the Texas coast, not oil-soaked.

la, la, la, rain…it has been a very watery month.

Yeah . . . it’s getting so I am avoiding other astrology sites to stay calm. So far, so good. :D

We are getting our first thundershower of the month! Less than .13″ of rain so far this month. Dry here.

Picked green beans today, can them tomorrow. Looking at canning beets too.

have a great time learning to spin. I suspect you will like it lots. So fun to knit yarn you’ve spun yourself.

  • It’s been an ‘amazing’ ride. Just when you think you know everything about yourself, you learn a whole stack more!

      Hey Karen!

It’s been an ‘amazing’ ride. Just when you think you know everything about yourself, you learn a whole stack more!

I’ve been trying to teach myself astrology now for a little while and I have been able to sit down just about every day to look at transits and so forth. I have solar fire gold and I love it! Anyways, I’ve been really trying to understand how the saturn uranus opposition is effecting me personaly. I have jupiter/uranus conjunct my decendant and then I have solar return mars, conjunct transit saturn, conjunct my natal Ac! plus it’s conjunct my natal moon! now,… mars on my Ac definitly makes me a little nervous, so I’m trying to understand it more. Do I look to see how it is with my natal mars?
