While yesterday’s exact Saturn-Uranus opposition only made one set of aspects to my natal Venus in Sagittarius (a sextile and trine), it still left me feeling stunned and silenced due in large part to the intense activity leading up to it.
Last week turned out to be a whirlwind of family gatherings at my home. My beloved Aries niece, her Aries husband and their delightful but extremely busy three year old Aquarius daughter came for a visit on Thursday along with both of my sisters and our father. I usually avoid playing hostess for my extended family like the plague because it is exhausting – fun but exhausting. However, I really love my niece and haven’t seen her in nine years nor had I met her husband and daughter, so I made an exception because she wanted to see the old home place she had so many fond memories of visiting growing up. Lots and lots of prep work involved for that event and lots of work cleaning up after.
A day or so later, my Gemini stepdaughter, her Aries husband and their buzz bomb of a three year old Pisces Sun-Aries Moon daughter spent the better part of the day. We all had a great time but they ended up staying much longer than planned, so My Aries husband was grummeling and growling about all the things he didn’t get done.
Uranus is still in my fourth house and Saturn in my tenth but this time I was more aware of how relationships were the source of stress rather than work vs. household matters. Note the number of Aries people all wanting my Libra attention and me feeling the need to give it to them, and in the process exhausting myself and my resources. Now it is time to start regrouping and taking time to rebuild my own energy.
Mars and Venus will be moving into Libra in the next couple of weeks, joining Saturn (and opposing Jupiter-Uranus in Aries). This places more weight on the Libra side of the scales. As with any opposition we have the choice of seeing this as an opportunity for dialogue or deepening conflict. It is up to us as individuals to decide because for some this might be just the trigger they need to break free of an oppressive situation while others may receive information allowing them to settle long standing differences.
The Saturn-Uranus opposition is just one part of the whole cardinal crush in the sky and I find it easier to get my mind around the big picture by looking at each aspect as it becomes exact. Otherwise it can be overwhelming to contemplate and that makes me want to go stick my head in the sand.
