Pisces Full Moon, August 24, 2010

There is something about this Full Moon at 1°26′ Pisces 10:05 AM PDT on August 24, 2010 suggesting we need to pay attention to reviewing what we have accomplished to date to make sure we have not forgotten important details due to living under the pressure of the cardinal T-square.

Speaking of the cardinal T-square and what makes this an especially good time to review its impact on our lives, is noting the connection to the lunation. Pluto in Capricorn forms a pleasant trine to the Sun in Virgo and a nice sextile to the Pisces Moon providing the means to acknowledge those areas where we have built up too many unrealistic expectations for ourselves and our significant others. Emotional baggage can be examined and unloaded under this influence for once and for all.

However, there is an Irritation Rectangle formed with the Sun in Virgo, Moon in Pisces, Saturn in Libra and Jupiter in Aries that can give us fits if we let it because those bodies are connected with semi-sextiles, inconjuncts and oppositions. OK, oppositions aren’t so bad . . . but the other two aspects can have a “fingernails on the chalk board” affect. Let me break it down into digestible portions so you can see what I am getting at.

First, the semi-sextiles – Sun in Virgo semi-sextile Saturn in Libra and Moon in Pisces semi-sextile Jupiter in Aries. Neighboring signs Virgo and Libra are almost always civil to one another but in reality they have little common ground. Virgo prefers to deal in what it considers unadorned practical details while Libra loves to present ideas all dressed up in pretty words. Circuitous Pisces finds Aries directness verging on rudeness and consequently will avoid Aries if possible.

Second, the inconjuncts or quincunxes – Moon in Pisces inconjunct Saturn in Libra and Sun in Virgo inconjunct Jupiter in Aries. Libra and Pisces are disposed to like one another but often have a hard time getting down to business because they are both easily sidetracked. Aries finds Virgo’s need to carefully consider every single detail before DOING something quite annoying leading to frayed tempers.

This rectangle can lead to endless “discussions” with little resolution. With the cardinal T-square still in place demanding we take action NOW, the results could be extreme frustration unless liberal doses of patience are applied. Thankfully Saturn in Libra is willing to help us find necessary compromises; Jupiter in Aries offers inspiration and enthusiasm while the mutable Sun and Moon are excellent for seeing all the options.

Venus and Mars in Libra are still celebrating their conjunction on August 20, promoting good will for all they are worth. As long as you and your significant other agree to steer clear of controversial topics and stick to billing and cooing, you should be fine. Libra does love a pretty compliment and well thought out gifts. Flowers and chocolate, anyone? :D

Mercury in Virgo stationed retrograde on August 20 for three weeks. Interestingly enough, it does not aspect any of the outer planets during this period. Does this mean we will be dealing with less confusion than usual? Virgo is clear, precise and has a no nonsense approach as well as being one of Mercury’s happy places. Perhaps we stand a good chance of reviewing the matters of whatever sector of our charts Virgo falls in with little interference for a change. It will be crossing back and forth over my Midheaven and I know I have plenty to think about when it comes to the direction I want to take this website and my astrology practice.

Speaking of outer planets, Uranus has moved back into Pisces until March 2011 and back into mutual reception with Neptune in Aquarius. Right now Uranus is also inconjunct my 29° Libra Sun and it is almost as irritating to the nerves as it was before. Maybe I’ll figure out how to deal with it this time around but I’m guessing I’ll most likely just have to have faith all will come right in the end. Blast!

This Full Moon has many edges and lacks resolution but it can shed light on those places in us and our lives that need attention. As the cardinal T-square slowly slides apart and the dust starts to settle, we can begin to see where we want to go next. Mercury being retrograde may work to our advantage this time around, giving us time to go back over old issues and re-think our approach. As always, practice kindness and consideration for all we interact with.

Oh, my God. The sun HAS moved into Virgo. That, and Virgo-Mercury and the T-Square, must be why I feel so organized and thus full of mental speed all of a sudden.

I like it. I really like it.

      Hey Deb!

Sun isn’t QUITE to Virgo [Sunday is the day] but it’s getting close. Must be Mercury in Virgo boosting your clarity. My mind is buzzing too . . . :D

well Diana, i like your way of writing, actually it makes things clear .
indeed , you have a talent to point out the problem,
the cardinal t-square touched me badly, emotionally, financially, it is exhausting to deal with it..
during this challenging period of my life , my love to astrology helps a lot to reveal many faces of my personality and endure my problems..
saturn hits my tenth house conj natal planets (ur, jup, mars, ) and jupiter uranus opposes them.
i have that pluto (he is the culprit of my faults – iam scorpio with scorpio rising ) transit my second house square my natal planets.
this is indeed a period of rethinking-reevaluating and some kind of compromise is obligatory!

Ouch! Thankfully you have plenty of Scorpio and that will help you through this period. We are entering a period of relative calm and hopefully you will be able to start making sense of what’s going on.

      good luck! :P

  • Uranus has been squaring my Mars for, what, forever? Makes me feel huffy.

I feel the tension and the desire to DO something, but I think I’ve mostly managed to keep my temper in check. Honestly, I avoid talking to anyone who might irk me off. :P
