Happy Solstice!

The summer solstice is here once more and long light evenings are the rule here in the northern latitudes. Saturn has moved off my Venus and right now the Sun is trine my Sun – always good for a lift in mood.

It is worth noting Pluto is back in Sagittarius within a degree of where he was on the winter solstice and my guess is this is an indicator we’ll be given a chance to review our changes once more. However today we pause in a place of transition and it feels a little like the universe is holding it’s breath.

Pat and I started Real Astrologers.com on the Vernal Equinox, the halfway point between the two solstices and today we will finally surpass the numbers of weekly hits on our website of that first week. This is pretty darn good milestone to be crossing. The last Pat checked we were up to 45 states and 69 countries worldwide. We’ve both worked very hard on this project and it is very satisfying to see how many people are coming by to visit! I have a post on the astrology of the solstice up on Real Astrologers.

Saturn has returned to the degree it was on the Vernal Equinox and is now marching towards my Midheaven. Mars will reach there in late July and I will probably be one busy lady from early July on. But right now I’m just grateful Saturn has lifted his weight off and Mercury is direct. By the way, if you have Mercury related matters to take care of, next week will not be too bad though the little biter will not be back up to speed until July 4. My list is waiting for me . . .

Please take a moment to recognize this particular transition point and simply breathe . . .

A splash of red-orange poppies in full bloom to celebrate the summer solstice. Poppies are a symbols of remembrance, sleep and death . . . a Plutonian flower?!

I love poppies, how surprising ;)My calendar marks the Solstice today (it’s my Mother’s birthday) but my Ephemerides says Cancer only arrives on Sunday this year. Are they two different things? It’s confusing me.Is your Venus in the 9th? Ever fell in love with a foreigner? ;)

My calendar marks the Solstice today (it’s my Mother’s birthday) but my Ephemerides says Cancer only arrives on Sunday this year. Are they two different things? It’s confusing me.hmmmmmm, the solstice & the Sun entering Cancer are one and the same! Greenwich Mean Time shows this occurring at 23:59 on Friday, June 20, 2008. so your mother & i have our suns exactly trine! cool! BTW, I love her wonderful creations Etsy Shop. she has a great eye for color and texture. Is your Venus in the 9th? Ever fell in love with a foreigner? ;)It’s in my first house in Sagittarius and yes, I was madly in love with a young Finnish man whom I met when I went to school there. But alas, time & distance were too much.

Ops, Neith, don’t mind me, I knew it was on your first but when you mentioned something about Saturn going to meet your Midheaven I thought: conjunction. :PYou went to school in Finland? That’s interesting!Yes, my Mother is extremely artistic, she has Venus in the 6th. :)That’s exactly what my calendar says, my ephemerides must be crazy.

If you lived in Finland, no wonder you appreciate the magic of the solstice so much. :) I always love your pretty nature photos along with your posts.Do you think Saturn transits to Venus affect women any more strongly than they do men (or especially Venus-ruled people)? I’m just curious because my Cancer man is getting another pass here around the time we go on vacation.

I’m just curious because my Cancer man is getting another pass here around the time we go on vacation.I do think Venus-ruled is more critical than gender. Remember the Venus Rx last year? It was awful for all the Venus-ruled people I know plus moi!As to your Cancer man, I suppose it depends on the house Saturn is transiting. If it’s the 6th or 10th for example, work-related things could intrude on your vacation.

Happy Summer Solstice, Neith! So, things lightening up for you? I know *I* feel better with Saturn off my Venus. Although, I’ve often found him having some delayed effects (unlike Jupiter, who seems to have effects preceding his exact transits!). But then, he’s still finishing up his transit of my 1st house. I’m developing an appreciation for patience (not easy for SN in Aries). :-)

Was wondering how you were managing now that Saturn has moved past 2 Virgo. Think you are right about the effects of Saturn’s transit lingering related to moving through your first house. Perhaps now that Mercury is direct and starting to pick up speed, you’ll be able to find a flow once more.

Hey Pisces Moon lover!Just wanted to stop in and say I love your page. I have the man in the moon side which is for the most the down side upset feelings ect. The other one welcome to my part of the world is the up side and most everyone visits me there. Have a great night. Thanks! I stopped over and checked your blogs and they are great. Watching the Moon rise is always a marvelous experience. Years ago I lived near the ocean in San Diego and saw one of those magical moments when the Full Moon was setting over the ocean while the Sun was rising to the east with all the lovely pastel pinks, lavenders and blues in the sky. What makes life worth living . . .
