Living with a Force of Nature

The week following the eclipse, my SO was at home working. August is a busy time for us anyway and with him home the “to do” list multiplied. We picked berries, cleaned garlic and harvested our onion crop, and these were the tasks I help with – his list was much longer and harder!

I know I have mentioned I live with an Aries but this Aries has his Ascendant, Sun, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter in Aries all packed in his first house using Koch Houses. His Mars, ruler of Aries, is in Scorpio closely square to Pluto and part of a grand trine with his Venus in Pisces and Uranus in Cancer. Naturally, Uranus in Cancer squares his Sun-Ascendant making him extremely independent!

In fact, if he didn’t have Saturn conjunct Neptune in Libra in his seventh house opposing his Moon-Mercury, I doubt if he would have ever learned to compromise at all. But Saturn can be a stern taskmaster and the opposition plus the house placement says Saturn’s role has been filled by various people in his life, starting with his father. Even though he lost his father when he was in his early twenties [or maybe because he did] his father’s authority has taken on mythic proportions in his mind. I see this as Neptune at work in this aspect pattern.

An interesting pattern in our synastry is both of us having Mars square Pluto natally and the same aspect is repeated by intra-aspect (Mars-Pluto squares from both charts) and in the composite. The thing is we just don’t fight – period. Of course we don’t agree about everything, after all I’m Libra Sun and Moon and he’s Aries Sun and Moon but we do not behave aggressively towards each other. This was not discussed either, it just was-is. My theory is we both recognize the potential for devastating the relationship and with his 7th house Saturn in Libra and all my Libra, we both place high value on the relationship it’s self. Plus there is the whole Scorpio recognition of an equally armed opponent creating a lasting condition of truce. Another factor here is I don’t do aggressive behaviors any more, Pluto totally convinced me not to by transiting my Mars, Mercury and Ascendant in Scorpio. Power plays went off the table permently.

When a person has such a strong emphasis on one sign as my SO and a natural chart, it’s easy to see why he is a force of nature. Aries is very powerful in a clear, dynamic manner and the first sign of the zodiac, so all that comes into play. I just stand back and let him do his thing and go with the flow, otherwise our life would be unending conflict and that is so not what I want in my life . . . much too exhausting for this peaceful Libra person!

My New Moon in Virgo post is up on Real Astrologers. The image for the New Moon post is of our home in late Summer, so green and peaceful. Please remember to write your abundance checks August 30. Here’s a link to our page on writing abundance checks.

This is granddad holding the light of his life . . . his granddaughter, the berry hound! What an imp she is. :-)

What a great post Neith!I’m sure a lot of that non-fighting has to do with all your Libra energy, probably your husband wouldn’t behave the same way with someone different (maybe he didn’t in the past, before he learnt the Saturn lessons).Curious about the force of nature kind of thing. Some people are more obvious in that way (not obvious in the boring sense, but a more straightforward and transparent way). Others are like deep wells that you can never see the end of ;)

Hey DM!Thought you might like the Scorpio stuff. It really fascinated me as a phenomena. :-) (maybe he didn’t in the past, before he learnt the Saturn lessons). He was married to an Aries woman with Moon in Cancer and Mars in Taurus and they fought constantly for the entire time they were married. However, i know of other Scorpio-Scorpio relationships with the same lack of open warfare. Curious about the force of nature kind of thing. Some people are more obvious in that wayIt’s easy to spot the fire sign types since they tend to very visible but earth and water, not so much. I have a client right now whose daughter has 7 planets in air plus air rising. Talk about a force of nature!

Talk about a force of nature!Wow, does she touch the ground or just float? ;) Oh I missed this bit you wrote: Plus there is the whole Scorpio recognition of an equally armed opponent creating a lasting condition of truce. This notion has been in my head a lot lately. I guess it takes one to know one. But I also think: isn’t that silly, how we are constantly armed and aware of those arms? It’s the Scorpio nature, no doubt, but sometimes seen from perspective every sign and their behaviour can get a little silly. lolThis year I’ll be celebrating my Mars return, in big style. After all, I’m very Mars-y and this only happens every two years, it’s better than a birthday ;)

Hi Neith! Cute photo! I found Donna Cunningham’s “Healing Pluto Problems” the other day and I must say, I’m not so sure anymore whether I’m a Plutonian! Some of her examples and sample charts are rather extreme– fitting for such a powerhouse planet. Or maybe Venus conj in my chart has an ameliorating effect on ol’ Pluto.

Hi Joe,While you are not an extreme example of a Plutonian type and the one’s Donna uses in her book are, anyone with a Scorpio Sun and Moon in the 8th house qualifies. On the other hand a case can be made for Saturnian type with your Saturn in the first, apex of a Yod with Moon in Capricorn sextile your Sun as the base.Yes, Mercury is now in Libra!! :-)

Though i don’t often comment on the political side of things, the current silly season is in full swing and here’s a thought i had:I had a thought about the absurdity of this season. You know most of the astrologers who are coming out in favor of Obama have attached him to Uranus and McCain to Saturn. Well, after seeing Palin appear on the ballot as McCain’s VP choice, I’m wondering if Obama-Biden actually represent the establishment and McCain-Palin, the change. Uranus in pursuit of change will often go to extremes and is the “maverick”. So if this is the case, we will be ushering the profound changes in if McCain is elected. hee hee

I think you may be right Neith. The lady is scary. I haven’t read everything she stands for but what I’ve heard so far really isn’t Saturn at all, but something very extreme. With that Saturn-Uranus opposition, I think something’s gotta give, as they say.

Well, we will have a front row seat. LOL!!

Thanks for adding more to my understanding of the the Saturn opposite moon. Also thanks for being so generous with your time when your days are so full. Love the photo of the elfkin, she seems to have a twinkle in her eye for the one behind the camera. You?I also agree with your assessment of the roles these sets of candidates are playing. I have stayed out of the political sites that i love so much because what i see is at odds with what i want to see. Apparently we still need the benefit of heyoka to show us a mirror of our faults.

Hey tseka!!Good to “see” your presence here once more. :-) Love the photo of the elfkin, she seems to have a twinkle in her eye for the one behind the camera. You?Yes, I took this photo. She has a lively sense of humor and is a charming elfkin. I also agree with your assessment of the roles these sets of candidates are playing. I have stayed out of the political sites that i love so much because what i see is at odds with what i want to see. Apparently we still need the benefit of heyoka to show us a mirror of our faults.Heyoka is a good term for McCain & Palin. There is a sense with both being a few bricks short of a load. It's Palin's handsome outdoors man husband I feel sadness for being taken from the freedoms of Alaska to the political hothouse of DC. BTW, he has a Sept 1964 birth date (either Virgo or Libra).

A Saturnian *and* a Plutonian? No wonder I’m so aware of my dark side.

  • neith

A Saturnian *and* a Plutonian? No wonder I’m so aware of my dark side.and don’t forget Uranian! Hey, you are an official member of the “Outer Planets People” club!! :-D

  • Joe

And Uranian, how could I forget! :o ) Is this an exclusive club? ;o)

  • neith

Hey Joe,Is this an exclusive club? ;o)Honestly, I’m not sure but I do know most of those who post here, on PiChron and Real Astrologers whose chart’s I’ve seen run to Outer Planet people. We as a group tend to much more interested in what’s going on with the collective. I believe this has to do with the archetypes we are tapping into via personal planet aspects to the outer planets. And we’ve been that way all our lives . . .Also an interest-passion for astrology often comes from strong Uranus or Aquarius in the chart. :-)

Plus there is the whole Scorpio recognition of an equally armed opponent creating a lasting condition of truce. Ha, Neith. There was a term for that in relations between the United States and the former Soviet Union, at the time the world’s two nuclear superpowers. It was called MAD, or “Mutally Assured Destruction.” Overall great post. It’s clear that you two are perfectly suited for one another. There is no higher purpose in life than true love, and you are so rare for recognizing and appreciating it.

    Good post.
