Uranus in Pisces and My Basement

First I wish to thank all my cyber-friends for their kind birthday wishes for me! You all make me feel very special and believe me right now I’m very, very grateful for every bit of the “good” stuff I can get!!

The day after my birthday the combination of Pluto exactly sextile my Sun and Uranus transiting my fourth house created a dozy of a situation in my home. An inexperienced heating oil delivery man didn’t stop pumping when he heard a burp and we ended up with approx 140 gallons on our basement floor! I can’t help but wonder how much longer he would have kept pumping if I hadn’t smelled diesel, looked into the basement, saw oil everywhere and went running out yelling at him to STOP PUMPING!!!

Fortunately both my husband and I have Mars in Scorpio aspected by Uranus natally so we both are good in emergency situations and got on this ASAP. We dumped 20 30+ lb bags of Sorbol (diatomaceous earth product for absorbing oil) on the spill and worked it in, then swept and shoveled it up. The following morning my husband hooked up a hose to a hot water faucet, and then he washed down the whole area with a combination of detergent and a citrus based cleanser.

It’s been two days and the house is starting to smell better but because we had to have as many windows open as possible for ventilation, the house was down to 55 degrees. We have a small wood stove but that is basically a butt-warmer. It was and still is long underwear and sweater time. I’m hopeful the fumes will leave and we will be able to start the oil furnace up again. And life will return to a semblance of normalcy around here in the not too distant future.

Saturn is transiting my 10th house and my husband’s 6th house and both of us were forced to take time from work related matters like earning a living to tend to this. I still have to talk some more to insurance adjusters but the fuel oil company is bending over backwards to make it right with us. Could it be they don’t want us to declare the house unlivable and demand their insurance and ours pay for a new home?!

So the reason why I didn’t immediately respond to all those nice birthday greetings because I was frantically dealing with another emergency in my basement [we had a plumbing leak the week before]. Sounds like Scorpio, Pluto and Uranus teaming up to see if my adrenals still work and they do!

I decided rather than use of photo of the oil in the basement I’d rather use this shot of some aspens catching the early sun’s rays.

My god Neith!! What a horror story.I know you and your SO are extremely capable people and are handling this as well as can be but what an awful thing to have to handle. Just wishing you the very best and wishing i were your neighbor so i could say come for dinner and stay the night – or several.Take care my deerhearted sister of the eastside.

Hey tseka! It has been a trial for sure. This happened on Friday so we have made a good recovery all things considered. The odor is sllloooowwly leaving.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++[responding to your earlier comment]I was thinking about your Pluto orientation earlier, Neith, today's namnsdag is Severin | SÖren = severe, but before you leap to the conclusion this is bad, consider this> today is in the week of days that open the "winterdays", first the new (lunar)year. From the days of shadow and mist come the elements to create the human form and join it with the elements of our soul – our whole being. This is a gift of the feminine, the goddesses of darkness and shadows bring us inspiration.Great info! and thank you very much for sharing this. I agree that “severe” does suit me considering all my Scorpio plus natal Venus trine Saturn. Severe as in austere and self-disciplined, no ruffles or fluff! :-)

Oh dear. That is worse than my toilet overflowing – twice – this week. (Not only disgusting but also my own fault.) Glad you were able to have a good recovery, and wishing away the smell soon!

OMG, neith! What a birthday present! what a mess. and such a pisces mess too. ick.go away smell…I’d be burnin’ the sage and cedar. i don’t like basements. they’re icky places. we don’t have them here. you deserve a break for all that. Here’s a glass of hot toddy apple cider and some cinnamon. It’ll smell SOOOO much better. Was it a bad weekend for anyone else? Cuz it was here…

Speaking of basements, a Chinese student living in my neighborhood told me that from watching Desperate Housewives (English practice) she thought that American basements were scary places that nobody goes in. (You’d have to have watched the show.)

hey leslee!Oh dear. That is worse than my toilet overflowing – twice – this week. (Not only disgusting but also my own fault.) Glad you were able to have a good recovery, and wishing away the smell soon! Thanks! Isn’t it frustrating when something is your own d**n fault? In a way, this whole situation could be attributed to poor communications. The delivery guy was poorly trained and my husband didn’t take the time to explain exactly what he meant about “top off the tank” because he was in a rush. For some reason I swear this post Mercury Rx period has been far worse than anything prior. It will be interesting to see if Mercury related matters clear up on Oct 31 when Mercury returns to it’s starting point.

you deserve a break for all that. Here’s a glass of hot toddy apple cider and some cinnamon. It’ll smell SOOOO much better. YUM! Thanks, Casey!! :-)I have a variety of fragrance free odor eaters that help for awhile. But after meeting with a cleaning service rep, I have a feeling we will be having to remove and replace any oil soaked wood before the problem is resolved. When I was writing the New Moon in Scorpio post for Real Astrologers, I realized the next week or so was going to be more about laying out a plan and less about taking action. That will come after the Saturn-Uranus opposition is exact in just over a week.

Yep, it was a hard week here — the crisis with my ex- is nearing the end, I think. Eric wants to bring both boys here to see Grandpa one last time. (!!!!!)Eve was sick with food poisoning. Lee has an upset stomach. Nobody could sleep Saturday night. I’ve been dizzy and sleepless and queasy. A guy in my office broke his leg again. (And funny — I asked him Friday if he was doing anything dangerous and he answered, just soccer. Pisces in action!) My boss finally went to the doctor after hacking up his lungs for three weeks. The guy in the next cubicle went for a flu shot here and came back with blood pressure of 168/108. My mom’s okay. So it was a hard weekend all around.

  • casey

    except for my mom.

  • Joe

urg, sorry to hear about that! :o(

  • neith

My mom’s okay. So it was a hard weekend all around. And my dad . . . he’s up camping in the hills [elk hunting] and enjoying himself.any bright spot is better than none right now! :-)

  • neith

Hey Joe,urg, sorry to hear about that! :o(Even though the odor has lessened, it’s still quite noticeable in the morning since we have to close up the basement at night against the cold.Worst case scenario is having to replace all the wooden sill plates that got oil on them. My Aries is resisting doing it because it would be a major, major undertaking. Yeah, Uranus in Pisces in my 4th is kicking my backside again. Could be spending another winter with the house being worked on. $$ is the issue, of course!

It’s always the money, honey! My car is down for repairs: fuel injection system and just yesterday they discovered the front control arm is loose (translation: wheel could have come off at any time. I knew the rattling was a bad sign). *sigh*

I knew the rattling was a bad sign). *sigh*LOL! It’s black humor time for sure. If you read my New Moon in Scorpio post on RA, you may recall me mentioning a “Basket” or Cradle” pattern. Well, you will benefit from that pattern in your Solar Return because your Sun will take the place of Mars in it. The New Moon today is right on my natal Jupiter so maybe we will both see some improvement in our monetary circumstances!! Wouldn’t that be great?! :-D

  • Joe

Yes, it would indeed, but don’t you mean “basket case”? :o)

  • neith

Yes, it would indeed, but don’t you mean “basket case”? :o)ROFL!! yeah, we’re both “basket cases”!

dear neith, need your wise readings…my ex is in the final stages now. He’s in the hospital, his BP is hoving between 40/20 and 60/40…several times it has been so low it isn’t registering. He’s had an aneurysm and will never be lucid again. His liver is no longer functioning and his kidney is failing. He’s in septic shock. He weighs 120 lbs. He’s on morphine to keep him comfortable. And we honestly expected this morning when we had the intubation removed that he would go then. But he is a very ornery stubborn old Leo (and let me tell you the doctors are rather amused when they asked all in the ER, “and how are YOU related to him.” “ex-wife.” “ex-wife.” “fiancee.” “daughter.” wicked grin.My son and the babies are here and Eric has said his good bye. We have all released him, absolved him, prayed for him, let him go. Well except for the OTHER Casey who is clinging to the belief that he can still fight it all off. And yet he lingers on. In fact, when an old friend of his came up to see him and had us all laughing around the deathbed about him, his BP rose 20 points! Could you see if you can spot something in his chart that will indicate how long this will continue? Some have suggested that he may not want to die on Halloween. I’m wondering if he’s lingering till the opposition on Tuesday. (though neither Uranus or Saturn seems that strong in his chart to me). Ronnie — August 21, 1946, Houston, TX, approx. 3:00 a.m.We have decided to split the day into shifts and also that Casey will not be allowed to be alone with him since she tries to get the nurses and the doctors to continue heroic measures. I’m taking tonight’s late night — I’ll be home tomorrow morning.

  • casey

hmmm…make that “hovering” — I’m not particularly clear tonight.

  • casey

An interesting chart — he has a ton of trines and sextiles…Chiron has just moved to the cusp of his 8th…as has the NN…

  • neith

{{{{{Casey}}}}}}I just happened to be taking a “computer” break and saw your comment come in. I looked at his chart and one possibility is early tomorrow AM (1:00-1:30AM) when the Moon-Venus exactly oppose his natal Moon. Plus all the other stuff you mentioned. My reasoning has to do with Cancer rising (Moon ruled) and the fact it will be a real release from pain.Take care and make sure you get some rest too. Hug the grandkids!

  • casey

Thank you. Well…that’s my shift. I’m leaving in a couple of hours. I’m VERY tired but I can’t seem to get much sleep. Eric and the boys have had my bed and I’ve been sleeping on the floor. Hope I don’t fall asleep during that period. Anyway, the boys are at their Aunt Nikki’s for trick-or-treating. I was upset with my son for bringing the babies — but his dad wanted to see them. We took them in there briefly this afternoon and quite frightened the older one (the 4-year-old). shakes head. I felt very strongly like this was SOOOO wrong.I knew something was coming since last Sunday morning. I heard the phone ring downstairs at 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. and yet no one seemed to answer and I just KNEW it was about Ronnie. But it was only their phones acting like alarm clocks. But I knew it was coming very soon. We had expected it around the middle of November.I’m in a state of hyperawareness and tenseness. And keep doing metta meditation. “I wish you peace. I wish you love. I wish you release. I wish you kindness. Let it all go. Let it all go…” I’ll especially be doing this at 1:00 tonight.Ah, Red Bull — I’ll need some tonight.I seem to get three days advance notice when I get these feelings.

{{{neith}}}FYI, he died this morning at 9:28…he WOULD have probably gone last night between 1 & 1:30 except for the other casey. I just wanted to smack her.I have had a very long 36 hours without sleep and with grandbabies and standing on my feet, coaxing his respiration down, doing the metta thing, doing the new agey thing (though I SWEAR I didn't say "go into the light!" it was a close thing) Everytime I got his breaths down to 4 or 5/min, casey would talk to him and tell him to fight and it would shoot up to 30/40 breaths a minute. The man ran a marathon last night. And I am just about knackered, as Lee would say.You were dead on the money.

It may have been the Moon triggering his Nodal axis, already being stressed by Uranus both natally and by transit. The Saturn-Uranus opposition is aspecting your natal Mars-Jupiter inconjunct. Yup, 7th house, 12th house and the 5th-11th axis. Your ex, his death, your grandkids and the “other casey”.casey would talk to him and tell him to fight and it would shoot up to 30/40 breaths a minute.McCain’s campaign needs her. :::evil grin:::
