New Moon in Pisces, February 21, 2012

© Steven Outram

We’ll be diving off the deep end into the endless waters of Pisces on the New Moon at 2° 42′ Pisces on 21 February 2012 at 02:35 PM PST and getting a taste of what having Neptune in Pisces is all about. I wouldn’t plan on being able to process this experience in short order either because much will not be what seems . . . oh joy. Pisces folk are going to love this New Moon.

Boundary issues will surface with a vengeance and anyone with a strong Neptune signature in their charts, i.e. Neptune in the first house or conjunct a personal planet will probably need to devote time and energy to redefining those. Thankfully we have help in the form of Saturn in Libra. It makes an out-of-sign trine to the New Moon/Neptune pileup. Saturn is the best ever at boundaries. The sextile to the New Moon from Jupiter in earthy Taurus is helpful too though Jupiter’s knack for magnifying existing energies may interfere.

Another thing this blissful New Moon will inspire is dreams of unconditional love, soul mates and merging with your loved one. Best be aware manifesting those dreams is not going to swift or easy as long as Venus in Aries is arguing with retrograde Mars in Virgo. They just can’t seem to resolve their differences. Venus wants to feel free to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants, whilst Mars can’t stop nagging about this minor imperfection and that one. Mercury in Pisces sitting in opposition to Mars isn’t able to smooth things over through effective communication either. My suggestion is to wait until Venus moves into one of her happy places in Taurus on 5 March and feels like being courted again.

Something else Saturn in Libra is doing on this lunation is gently putting the brakes on Uranus in Aries via an out-of-sign inconjunct. The aspect is awkward but the signs can easily find points of agreement. Aries listens to Libra’s tactful opinions, you know. As Uranus is semi-sextile to the New Moon/Neptune, we will appreciate Saturn curbing Uranus’s impatience.

We are still benefiting from a waxing trine between Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn for the next month or so. If you are working on strategies to improve your finances or putting together business plans, you might want to get those in place in the near future before this excellent influence begins to fade.

In many ways, this New Moon in Pisces can be seen as the beginning of the new year between Mars finally getting back up to speed in reverse and Jupiter in Taurus moving into high gear. The first New Moon of the year in Aquarius coincided with both Mars stationing and Saturn at a virtual standstill at 29° Libra. Our Neptune inspired dreams are fragile and illusive now, so treat them with care and respect whilst seeking to manifest them. Please treat the dreams of others with equal tenderness and continue to practice kindness and tolerance! Enjoy this lovely New Moon!

On a personal note: This New Moon exactly squares my first house Venus in Sagittarius from my third house, so I need to follow my own advice about nurturing my dreams as well as shoring up my boundaries. It is such a pain to sort out my feelings from those closest to me and that’s what happens when my natal Moon-Neptune conjunction goes all fuzzy on me.

Thankfully for those of us 29° Libra Sun folk, this is the last lunation until the Full Moon in Aries in September we have Saturn sitting on our Suns. Only a couple of weeks left in this pass . . . relief is in sight. :D

  • I am excited for this new moon. It is within orb (2 degrees, 15 minutes) of my Natal Moon, so it should be interesting!

I would love to infuse some new energy into my ultra feeling Pisces Moon!

      Hey Jax! :D

Might as well relax and go with the flow on the New Moon . . . like you will have any say in the matter. LOL

Geez, just had the Full Leo Moon conjoin my natal Moon (and Ascendant), now the New Moon exactly opposite my natal Venus/Pluto in the 1st. Hope this is all good! (btw, Just had a good job interview, will have to see what happens next…) Venus in Aries may be argumentative inconjunct Mars in Virgo, but at least she’s in his sign so he can hear her. :-) I’ll be happy to have Venus in Taurus, though.

Looks like a sweet New Moon for you! :D Fingers crossed for a positive followup on your interview . . . Jupiter is closing on your MC & that should help.

Good point about Venus being in Mar’s home sign. I missed that & I agree he’ll hear her, like it or not. :P Venus is bound to be much happier in Taurus & much better for you too.

More Pluto energy for myself here since this will make an opposition to Pluto at 29 degrees Leo. It will also make a trine to Neptune at 29 degrees Libra. Things might get interesting this weekend.

A couple of out-of-sign aspects that look promising for you. One thing though, be aware your boundaries may be more permeable than usual.

Very well could! Do remember Neptune’s fog machine will be in high gear and all may not be as it first appears.

I’ve been thinking about working on my self esteem a lot lately and I’m starting to think it’s less of a Saturn in Libra/Mars in Virgo thing and maybe more about Neptune entering my 2nd house. And how to go about it in ways that are not stereotypical/not going to work. My first idea was to work on my health and career goals and that Aries pressure to be creative and change the world, but I think part of it has to do with accepting myself as I am in most ways. I’ve also been slightly more responsive to pictures of cute animals.

      Hi Dina!

I’ve been thinking about working on my self esteem a lot lately and I’m starting to think it’s less of a Saturn in Libra/Mars in Virgo thing and maybe more about Neptune entering my 2nd house.

Are you using Equal Houses? Because with both Placidus & Koch Houses, it’s going to be years before Neptune enters your 2nd House . . . sorry. As Jupiter in Taurus continues thru your 3rd House (Koch system) and sextiles your 6th house planets, you may get some help figuring out where your true vocation lies. Good luck!

Thank you Dianne for this exciting post! It is my birthday with Neptune about to conjunct my sun and a bunch of planets placed on my solar return 10th house – sun, Neptune, moon, mercury, chiron..I feel that I should not know what to expect!

Oh my! If anyone can use the Pisces Stellium effectively, it’s you. Saturn in Libra anchoring the Sun-Neptune in your Solar Return will be much appreciated in the end. :)

      Have a lovely birthday!

  • Actually looking forward to this New Moon because it’s in my 1st House and sextiles my natal sun/moon (New Moon at birth) in the 11th, sextiles Mars in my 3rd House and trines Saturn in my 5th.

Hopefully, it will bring some communicative beginnings in regards to social networks and organizations in regards to the festival blog I run.

    Fingers crossed!

Perfect for you! Since the last three signs (Capricorn, Aquarius & Pisces) deal with the collective, focusing the energy as you are works quite well.

You wrote “Thankfully for those of us 29° Libra Sun folk, this is the last lunation until the Full Moon in Aries in September we have Saturn sitting on our Suns. Only a couple of weeks left in this pass . . . relief is in sight”

    My question is:
Is that true for us 22° Libra Sun folk as well? Thanks!

    • Diane L

      Welcome Druid Clark!

Is that true for us 22° Libra Sun folk as well? Thanks!

Saturn will return to 22° Libra in early June as it slows to station direct on 25 June. It will remain at 22° Libra until mid-July. That means you have one last pass over your Sun to undergo. Those of us with 29° Libra Suns are getting our long pass now . . . :P

      Hang in there!

la, la, la…the metta kindness is working somewhat. And I had a deep-tissue massage during lunch today which made the tension headache go away.

My DIL is a Virgo. 24 degrees. You know…in direction opposition to my sun. with a whole bunch of other uncomfortable aspects going on elsewhere. sigh. Don’t know her ascendant though. Nobody in her family remembers what time they were born. Her mother had 7 kids and can’t keep them straight.

Four months. I can make it through 4 months, non?

    • Diane L

My DIL is a Virgo. 24 degrees.

OMG! Just a degree shy of where Mars went Rx! It will be around 20-21 June when Mars finally returns to 23 degrees Virgo & makes its last pass over her Sun. About the time they will be moving out?! BTW, Mars will go direct at 3 degrees on 13 April. Gotta love Mars retrogrades . . . NOT!!

Good luck with maintaining some semblance of peace in your expanded household. :D
