As Mars moves deeper into its retrograde period, I’m getting more feedback on the effect it is having. Personally I noticed it the most when it triggered my natal Mars-Uranus inconjunct, mostly because my Mars conjoins my Mercury and Ascendant. The affect on the affairs of the house it is transiting is indirect as in less time at my computer.
It seems to be hitting those with mutable Rising signs and planets in the mutable signs in the first house the hardest. In general mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) are more vulnerable to stress which often affects their nervous systems in some way. Mars is an energetic, active force and in Virgo tends to get too caught up in minutiae to suit action oriented Mars. Being forced to a crawl by stationing retrograde really annoyed Mars, with unhappy results for those people with Mars transits to their first house or Ascendant.
Stress related illness or injuries are possible, often the result of an existing weakness in the system being repeatedly pressured by overuse. Carpel tunnel is an example of this kind of problem. Lots of folks are suffering from viruses causing colds or flu like symptoms. Their immune systems were weakened from overdoing it in some way. If Mars is heading back to hit a sensitive point in your chart, please do all those good things for your health like getting enough sleep, eating right and avoiding as much stress as possible.
Mars is currently at 17° Virgo Rx and will go back to 3° Virgo before stationing direct on 13 April so this is not going away anytime soon. Now that the Mercury-Mars opposition is waning, there are no other irritating aspects for a few weeks. Hopefully this will make life a little easier for everyone.
Mercury in Pisces is taking its turn aspecting my Mars/Mercury/Uranus inconjunct the last couple of days and disrupting my schedule. I spent the better part of the day yesterday helping my Aries on a bath remodel he’s doing. I got to spread stinky construction adhesive on the wall and was just getting the hang of it after doing the fourth panel.
I chose a serene view for this post as a calming influence.
