Another Venus retrograde is now upon us! Venus will station retrograde at 24° Gemini on May 15, exactly trine retrograde Saturn in Libra for better or worse.
Speaking of “for better or worse” those planning late May-June weddings better brace themselves for plenty of changes in wedding plans! Though it is unlikely weddings will be called off, there will be more changes to all those important details like the flowers, cake, music and the bridesmaid’s dresses. Note to parents of the bride – if you don’t want to go broke, practice saying “no” in a firm, no nonsense tone.
Often being retrograde brings out Venus’s less pleasant nature. Venus in Gemini is typically lots of fun to be around. She is witty, inventive and generally a bright, upbeat companion. However, if she is unhappy she can be fickle, snippy and prone to passing on nasty gossip. Anything to prevent boredom is her motto.
As a Venus ruled Libra, I am always wary when the lovely one starts into one of her retrograde periods. My fingers are crossed this one won’t be too difficult because it does start with a helpful trine from Saturn in Libra and ends of June 27 with a wide conjunction to Jupiter in Gemini. Can’t be too bad, can it???

Um, “nasty gossip” is right. And, sadly, I feel like it began during the shadow period. (Is there Venus Rx shadow period?)
If I’ve learned anything from 2004, it’s that I needn’t give a crap about what anyone else thinks or says about me now, especially if the “anyone” is a newbie. I will use the hate as fuel to improve myself, projects (writing is a big one), and sources of income.
I will be smiling big!
XOXO,
Deb
Hey Debs!
(Is there Venus Rx shadow period?)
Yup! It started on April 12 and the shadow period following the station direct ends July 31. Deirdre Tanton has a cool graphic on her Venus Rx post.

LOL! Good luck with your writing! Venus can be a good source of inspiration, no matter what she gets up to.
I can’t recall anything too big happening in my life in May-June 2004. I know I was very busy at the time working for a contractor and that was the peak of the building boom.
XOXOXO diane~
Interestingly, a cousin of mine is getting married in Chicago during this rx period. I’m not real close to her so I don’t know what changes, if any, are going on with planning and behind the scenes. I do know it’s during a very busy time in that city and I’m torn about going or not. I have to make up my mind soon.
Also, if I may, I’d like to add a recommendation for this seemingly unknown astrologer’s blog on Venus in Gemini. It touches many of the “right buttons” for me somehow. Here’s the link: Kosmic Mind

Heh . . . with Venus wandering back thru your first house, you could change your mind a couple of times. Depends on how close Venus is to your nSaturn.
I checked out the post on Kosmic Mind and it is very well written though probably a bit on the astro-geeky side for newbies. Lots of good information and it’s obvious this astrologer does his homework.
xoxoxo diane~
LOL Well since it made perfect sense to me, I think it’s safe to say I’m no longer a newbie.
Venus is in my 6th house – empty! Can you help if me with if that is making an aspect to my Saturn in Libra 9th. I’m hope isn’t bad. I so NEED some relief and lightness in my life.
Hey Debbie!
No problem with Saturn in Libra . . . it’s the opposition to your Mars in Sagittarius that may make life interesting! That’s because Venus Rx in Gemini will create a Grand Cross with your natal T-Square (Mars sq Chiron-Pluto opposition). Are you considering changing vocations/jobs? What this transit brings to light may help clarify your thinking.
good luck!
xoxoxo diane~
Yes definitely considering a job/vocation change. I am actually going to out NYC to learn more about working overseas for Doctors without Borders. A HUGE change if I can stomach leaving my dog for a year. I also just finished a yoga teacher training program and so want to move toward the spiritual side of life and leave this corporate life behind.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the last time Venus was retro.I had moved to VT, bought a house, and started making friends with other transplants to the area. If it means my social life improves I am all for it given I have lived in PDX for 3 years and still have no friends. Hard on the ego!
Ugh, what a crazy day I’ve had – lots of tail-chasing and managing other people’s anxieties. Definitely agree with the “nasty gossip” observation. Is it just me or does Venus rx in Gemini feel like a variation of Mercury rx?!
Hey HH72!!
Is it just me or does Venus rx in Gemini feel like a variation of Mercury rx?!
I’m wondering if part of this effect can be attributed to Mercury making a waxing conjunction to Jupiter in Taurus. Mercury in Taurus is not the best for Geminis. It’s pedantic, stubborn and not very imaginative. Jupiter typically magnifies what it’s touching . . .
Of course, Venus stationing adds its mite too. *grin* Life will begin to brighten for Gemini when first Mercury (25 May), then Jupiter enter Gemini (12 June). The exact conj of Mercury & Jupiter is next Monday.
Good luck!
