What was blithely overlooked under the seductive influence of the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini on 20 May will come into sharp focus on this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 14° 14′ Sagittarius on 4 June 2012, 04:12 AM PDT due to the superb analytical skills of Mars in Virgo squaring the lunar axis.
A feel good conjunction of the Sun and Venus in Gemini is all about having a bit of fun and if we let it, Mars in Virgo could completely destroy the mood. It is not easy for this Mars to relax their ability to see every flaw or point those out to all in hearing distance but a good idea nonetheless. Unless someone is a total masochist the last thing most of us want is a detailed review of our failings, least of all from our lover. Stomp firmly on the urge to offer even well meaning suggestions for improvement at this time! That being said, we do need Mars in Virgo folk to help do things like audit expenditures, check for fraud and diagnose illnesses. If you want an excellent editor or proof reader, hire someone with a Virgo Mars and you won’t be disappointed.
On the other side of the lunar axis, the Moon in Sagittarius is also square Mars in Virgo . . . otherwise known as being brutally honest. Sagittarius is not always good at knowing when some tact might be welcome and we might see plenty of examples of this now. Relationships may end up devastated and the excuse could be “I was just being honest”. As a Libra with a first house Venus and South Node in truth loving Sagittarius I’ve had more than a few lessons in why using tact and diplomacy is more helpful than harmful. Sometimes it is impossible to spare another’s feelings and under this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, the likelihood of this happening is greatly increased. Still that’s not an excuse to willfully trample all over someone’s feelings, OK?
On the good news side of things, Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is still in its home sign and trine Saturn in Libra. This is a wonderfully clear sighted pairing, perfect for sorting through the half-truths and illusions left in the wake of the New Moon-Neptune square. Saturn in Libra will make sure everyone gets a fair hearing and both sides of the story will be heard. We may catch a break from over-heated rhetoric . . . at least in the short term. If you have been struggling to make a tough decision, this influence is there to help.
There is a waxing square developing between Jupiter, still in Taurus, and Neptune in Pisces. Even though this square won’t be exact until 25 June (after Jupiter enters Gemini) I’m guessing we’ll be feeling the effects in the weeks leading up to it. Not only that, Neptune is now at a virtual standstill preparing to station retrograde within hours after the Lunar Eclipse. The ease with which the smallest glitch can get blown out of proportion will astonish.
Yes, the nasty square between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn is now within a degree of exact. Keep in mind these are outer planets and consequently will have a greater effect on the collective as a whole than individuals. That is unless you have planets or Angles from 7° to 9° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), then it has the potential to get personal. What will be highlighted are those areas where the need for autonomy comes into conflict with the need for control. Often all we can do is recognize and accept the paradox because these archetypes are ultimately beyond our control (good Pluto word).
Since we have a preponderance of planets in mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) with an emphasis on air with some fire thrown in, an intellectual approach to problem solving will work best. Reaching agreement and resolution may be far harder to achieve. Grab on to the best and most inspired ideas to implement at a later date and be content for now to take part in endless discussions.
What is revealed on this Full Moon will give us plenty to think about and wonder how we could have been so blind. Please reserve judgment until all the facts are in and then be kind rather than intolerant . . . especially towards one’s self. Often we are our harshest critic and beating ourselves up over an honest mistake may do more harm than good. Remember the best use for our critical facilities is to discern the best in ourselves and others rather than the worst.
On a personal note: This lunation aligns with my Nodal axis, the Moon on my South Node and the Sun, the North Node . . . probably why I’m giving myself a pep talk in advance about tempering the mouth and reserving judgment. Jupiter in Taurus is inconjunct my Sun-Chiron in Libra and may test my ability to stay fair and balanced. Jupiter is more noted for taking sides rather than choosing the middle ground. LOL
That Uranus-Pluto square is hitting my natal Neptune in Libra and what that is stirring up in my brain merits a separate post, so check back later! *grin*

Great advice…also about being kind, to others and ourselves. If I have to withdraw to ensure this is possible, so be it. I already got a preview of this, when my friend entered the palliative care unit. I hadn’t heard from him in a while and had been thinking ‘no news is good news.’ He’s a Sag/Cap cusp person and he retreated drastically when he became ill; I thought I was respecting his privacy and not worrying when he didn’t answer emails. It’s this kind of rude awakening I usually dread. Hopefully there are less gut-wrenching surprises ahead.

Yes, it is very important for you to be kind to yourself now. What a heart wrenching time for you. Knowing there is little you can do as much as you’d like to has to be very, very tough.
BTW, this Full Moon falls in your 6th-12th houses, conj your natal Neptune. Maybe express your grief thru your Art in some way?

Not sure I’m going to like this one. A little too close to my Saturn and square my Sun, plus Mars is well within striking distance of my Sun. Could be an irritable time. My Virgo digestive system has not been happy for weeks, so trying to get that calmed down. Ah well, maybe Mars will help pinpoint what’s causing the issues so I can make the right changes…
Hey Les!
Ah well, maybe Mars will help pinpoint what’s causing the issues so I can make the right changes…
I think this is a very good possibility. This time between the Solar & Lunar eclipses is/has been unsettling for many including myself. Having Neptune conj the New Moon was no help at all. LOL
Jupiter in Taurus is poised to conjoin your Mars on the Full Moon and I can see that one inspiring you to take some kind of preemptive action regarding your career. One thing about Jupiter is he is seldom neutral.

Just curious…libra rising here…saturn retrograde actually got things moving for me…..first time since the start of the transit…shouldnt the retrograde have been the opposite…very curious what to expect out of this eclispe………..06/25/1981 Mount Vernon, NY 1:55pm
Hi Sean,
saturn retrograde actually got things moving for me…..first time since the start of the transit…shouldnt the retrograde have been the opposite…
Summer 2010 was probably very intense for you because your Saturn Return hit at the same time as Saturn, Uranus & Pluto formed a T-Square (Grand Cross with your Sun). Whew!
In my experience a retrograde planet is simply spending more time going back and forth over a few degrees. This places more emphasis on one sector of our charts and can aspect natal planets at least three times. Retrogrades often give us time to process issues thus it makes sense for you to see some movement.
very curious what to expect out of this eclipse
Well, if nothing else it will motivate you to take action of some kind! Hope it is working out well for you.
BTW – When Saturn in Libra squares your natal Venus for the last time in mid-August, it will have Mars conj it. Mars conj Saturn is always a slow burn . . .
