Observations: Weighing the pitfalls of Uranus

Erring on the side caution these days may not be a bad idea with Uranus in Aries getting a boost from Mercury in Leo and Venus in Gemini. We can get waaaay ahead of ourselves in short order and make snap decisions or poor judgment calls based on too little accurate information. What sounds good in the heat of the moment may come back to bite us.

Uranus has many good points, among them the ability to inspire innovative thinking. However it does have dark side when the need to feel free of all constraints can lead to destructive behaviors. Just because we can do something, doesn’t automatically make it a good idea.

Those people with planets from 8 to 15 degrees in Leo and/or Sagittarius have an advantage when dealing with transiting Uranus in Aries as it squares Pluto in Cappy over the next three years because those planets will be trine Uranus. This can soften the impact by giving the energy generated by the square means of expression. I have Saturn conjunct Pluto in Leo anchoring Uranus and it does seem to help. Uranus will be stationing retrograde at 8° Aries on 13 July exactly trine my Saturn . . . good for impulse control which I will need since Uranus will be opposing my vulnerable Libra Moon and Neptune!

FYI – Uranus will only move back to 4° Aries before going direct 13 December 2012, so those of you with planets and Angles from 0° to 3°  in the cardinal signs who had it rough the last few years can heave a sigh of relief!

What do you have to help you survive Uranus in Aries? Helpful placements in Leo or Sagittarius? Or vulnerable placements in Cancer or Libra sensitive to Uranus’s pressures? Or like me, a little of both!

    No respite for my poor Aries through the rest of the year since his Sun is at 6 degrees Aries. Although with Mercury trining from Leo he may at least get some opportunity to get a word or two in edgewise for awhile.
    Not certain how this will play out for myself, since this mercury will make a conjunction to my Uranus and opposes my moon. I am thinking since Saturn in Sag. in the 7th also figures into this trine conversations will get spoken that have been simmering on the back burner. I may not like what I hear, but it will bring healing in being out in the open.

      I can see Saturn in Sagittarius going in for brutally honest in the name of confessing all to clear the air. Uranus + Pluto can also be cathartic in an abrupt but through way. Healing is definitely possible as a result . . . just painful getting there. {{{{William}}}}}

    I’m watching Uranus carefully right now! At 8 degrees Aries, it’s exactly conjunct my Mars and exactly opposed my natal Uranus. And in about 2 weeks, Mars will come along in Libra and do the exact same thing, only in reverse (conjunct natal Uranus and oppose natal Mars). I don’t know what EXACTLY that’s going to do… but I’m making sure to watch myself carefully. No fast driving, random acts of temper, or knife juggling.

    And this is all happening about 3 degrees off of my MC/IC axis. And I’m not even going to mention Pluto, sitting in the corner and glaring squares at all of this.
    But at least the Mars and Uranus Show will be sextiling/trining my Aquarius Moon! Maybe that’s grasping at a straw, but I’ll take it! :)

      OMG! Life in the fast lane!! I’d say Mars & Uranus supporting your Moon is going to be very helpful. Be very, very careful and do your best to stay calm, cool & collected. Otherwise running that much nervous energy could lead to burnout . . . like a constant sugar/caffeine high.

    Well, it’s getting a bit complicated for me! I have the advantage you are talking about, 2 planets at 10 degrees Sag, point is, it is a strange conjunction of Mars-Neptune! I still haven’t figured out what that conjunction is about (must be Neptunes fault… ;-) so I also don’t have a clue how it is going to help. On the other side, thing may get a bit grim first, because transiting Uranus first opposes my natal Pluto at 9 degrees Libra, before the trine from Mars-Neptune can help out! Needless to say that meanwhile transiting Pluto is also squaring my natal Pluto?! I can’t see the forest from the trees!

      Welcome Brex!

      That’s often how I feel about Neptoon! If you have creative projects to dive into, those can be very good for as a means of stress reduction. Mars-Neptune can be extremely sensitive to too much noise & confusion in one’s environment too.

      Unless you have personal planets (Sun thru Mars) aspecting your natal Pluto, this is a one of those cyclical transits that’s part of the “mid-life crisis” where we are taking a long look at what we’ve done in our lives to date. Uranus is going to make sure the Pluto in Libra folks don’t miss anything they need to address NOW. Take it one crisis at a time and day at a time. Too much projecting ahead can be overwhelming . . .

    I have Saturn in Capricorn at 7 degrees on the cusp of the sixth house. When Uranus made an exact square to my Saturn which is also getting the Pluto conjunction by transit, guess what happened. Fell at work and broke my wrist! Pretty textbook considering I also have Pluto in Virgo getting that Chiron opposition! Uranus was defianatly the trigger planet of my Pluto/Saturn. Rehab starts next week! Since I have studied astrology for over thirty years and I know the transits this summer all I can say is OUCH!

      OUCH is right! Was it your dominate hand? Hope you heal quickly and regain full use of your hand in record time. Uranus can press us hard to keep pushing when we KNOW that’s a bad idea. Distractions are often part of why we end up having accidents under a Uranus transit.
