More practical concerns set the mood of the first week of Capricorn season. There may be lingering moments of lightheartedness due to both Mercury and Venus still in Sagittarius though Mercury crosses into the last decant this week prior to entering Capricorn on 31 December.
If you are spending Christmas Day with family it might be a good idea to avoid controversial topics because Uranus in Aries will be pushing all of the Capricorn Sun’s buttons. Sounds like a great setup for pitting the younger generation against their elders. It might not hurt to decide ahead of time what relatives to steer clear of because you KNOW they will set you off! Vow to practice patience too.
Mars leaves Capricorn for Aquarius the same day and becomes far more unpredictable. Whilst in Capricorn Mars is very good at directed, sustained action and capable of ignoring distractions in order to accomplish his goals, in Aquarius Mars becomes far more quixotic and experimental. He is prone to using words to fight his battles in this mental air sign.
It is sextiles from Pluto in Capricorn and the Capricorn Sun to Saturn in Scorpio along with the Sun conjoining Pluto that really establishes the tone this week. These are serious players with very serious goals and not easily distracted either. All of these aspects are part of the chart for the Full Moon in Cancer on Friday . . . a good time to aware of attitudes. Staying as detached from specific outcomes as possible is what I’m recommending.
The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is a great time to contemplate the coming year and set your priorities if you can. If you feel like your life is in a state of upheaval due to Uranus poking at you, then instead of specific goals you may wish to focus on attitude and perspective. Whatever else please practice being kind, tolerant and as patient as possible in the coming year!
Have a very Merry Christmas!
Ready or not, Aries, you might never have a better opportunity to set your career priorities. If you are considering going into business for yourself, this is a great time to meet with potential investors. Be respectful and listen carefully to what they have to say.
This is usually a very productive time of year for you, Taurus, and your career sector is about to get a big shot of energy. If you have an opportunity to go into partnership with a very dependable type, give it serious consideration.
You might not be quite ready to leave the party, Gemini, and neither is your significant other. If you have some vacation days coming, please use them because even if you are at work, your mind won’t be! Life will return to boring routines all too soon.
This week may bring a growing awareness on your part, Cancer, of who holds the real power in your one-on-one relationships . . . and it’s not you. If you have learned to trust those individuals, this won’t bother you. Be respectful though.
Family matters and demands are still going to take center stage, Leo, and you may as well give them your undivided attention. Getting into serious arguments with family members is hard on your heart and your health. Be your gracious self if possible.
A part of you may be tempted to throw one last holiday party at your home, Virgo, and if you do, everyone will enjoy the warm, friendly atmosphere. Another part of you feels the pull to create though this could be almost uncomfortably intense.
Familial obligations dragging you down, Libra? As in too much of a good thing? You are still able to come up with pleasant conversation and be charming as only you can. Don’t worry, exciting creative possibilities are about to emerge and provide distraction.
Between your tenacity and increased ability to follow through, Scorpio, you are well placed to take advantage of some lucky breaks to improve your financial situation. You always have a knack for retaining useful information and this is working very well for you now.
Like your Gemini pals, Sagittarius, you are unwilling to leave party mode and come back to the real world. As long as you don’t completely ignore the practicalities you will be OK. Don’t push your luck too far or you might be blindsided later. Careful!
What drives you now, Capricorn, is establishing connections with those in your circle who may help you achieve recognition at a later date. Planning ahead comes naturally to you and you shine at it. Maintaining a reasonable routine and not overdoing it is a good idea.
You might still have some interest in meeting and greeting, Aquarius, though your enthusiasm has started to wane. Going into hibernation may sound better every day and you will have no trouble saying “no” to party invites if you don’t wish to go.
If you are getting very pleasant feedback at work, Pisces, it is probably because you are doing a decent job of staying grounded now. This is also helping you handle family dramas with dispatch and practicality for a change. Keep it up!
If you know your Rising sign, read the horoscope for it too.

Sounds wonderful, Cita! We all gain some extra weight over the Holidays . . . too much good food!
Today my father & sister joined us to open some gifts and eat. LOL
xoxoxo diane~
Sounds good to me, Diane
! Thank you.
I have to say, the holidays weren’t bad at all. But then again, I didn’t do much planning, made no ‘holiday madness’ over here. Just eased into it and celebrated since Saturday with people I love!
Hope your Christmas was lovely, XOXO.
Hey Sunflower! Today was peaceful and that’s always a big plus in my book. We exchanged small gifts including things like jams, pickles and my Aries smoked some salmon for everyone. No big ticket items here . . .
Glad you have a great time with your loved ones!

merry xmas, neith. I’m glad you had a nice day yesterday.
Surprisingly, we had a very peaceful xmas at my house. My Pisces brother kicked up a fuss on Sunday night but my Taurus brother made him behave for xmas. The most notable trend at my house was everyone and their personal electronic devices. Glued to them, they are!
My knitted gifts were well received this year, so there was no crying like last year. The kitchen is now mostly clean and so is the rest of the downstairs. I find I’m increasingly preferring order over chaos!
I’m back at work, picking velocities, but hardly anybody else is so it is very peaceful too.
Now, if I could just get rid of this cough.
Hey Casey!!
So pleased to hear you had a wonderful, peaceful with your extended family too. I consider peaceful family Christmas celebrations a true Christmas miracle . . .

So were mine & I hear you about having a clean kitchen and preferring order over chaos. Loved the return to a quiet house today.
Speaking of coughs, my sweet Taurus grandson had a bad case of the croup & passed it to his parents. They had both been taking antibiotics for several days when they came for their Xmas visit on Saturday. Nasty stuff. Thankfully none of us caught it.

Mercury sitting on my 5th house Saturn and squaring my Sun over Christmas was not especially kind — too much time on our hands with not enough to do. Happy to have my bf in my life, but my Leo Moon was feeling lonely during this season when everyone else is bemoaning too much family time! Saturn’s also transiting my 4th. Well, moving into the 6 months leading up to my 2nd progressed lunar return in June, need to get my Leo Moon into some place to shine more. Working at home is great for managing my own time, but missing any conviviality (not that my job was much better, slaving away in the hold of the ship as it were). Guess that’ll be my New Year’s resolution.
Forgot to mention I dreamed about being confronted by a lion last night! I’d been reading Amy Herring’s Astrology of the Moon before bed.
That sound’s like an interesting dream . . .
Hey Les!
Bet you are happy to have Mercury in Capricorn trine your early Virgo planets! May today’s Leo Moon brighten your New Year’s celebrations too. I hear you about working at home . . . what little social life I had gradually ceased once I was no longer working in town. Saturn transiting my Sun & Moon the past couple of years was no help in the that department. *grin*
