Mars left reserved, practical Capricorn for eccentric Aquarius on Christmas Day, noticeably changing the energy. Those of us who live with Aries folk probably noticed this the most followed by my fellow late degree Libra Sun comrades. Transiting Mars in Capricorn squaring the Sun rates right up there for annoying transits!
The first aspect Mars in Aquarius will make is a quiet semi-sextile to Neptune in Pisces late on 26 December 2012 . . . so quiet most of us will probably not even notice unless we have something important at 0°. A more ambitious aspect will be the sextile to Uranus in Aries because this places Mars and Uranus in mutual reception. Whether or not this brilliant, edgy combination lights a fire under us or creates stress and frustration may have to do whether our charts are dominated by fire and air or earth and water. The sextile will occur on New Year’s Eve. Oh yes, you may want to be aware Uranus will bring out Mars in Aquarius’s “faithful but not rigid” side and if you or your date have a jealous streak, set some ground rules ahead of time.
Next Jupiter in Gemini will heat things up via a trine to Mars in Aquarius on 4 January. Great for big ideas and innovative solutions to existing stalemates though if these aren’t grounded in reality the ongoing Saturn-Pluto sextile in Scorpio and Capricorn will step in and let you know about it. If you are in the process on building something new on a solid foundation, this may get your new year off to a great start.
Saturn in Scorpio will step up to throw serious obstacles in Mars’ way on 7 January . . . anyone with personal planets and Ascendant from 9° to 10° in the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) best take heed ‘cause this aspect is going to slam the brakes on. If Mars and Saturn were in either cardinal or mutable, there might be some room for negotiation but in the fixed signs, not so much. Potential confrontations may get very ugly unless both parties agree to disagree and go their separate ways for now. By the way, Mars will be semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn the day before and may give us some warning signs of what is to come. Once past the Mars-Saturn square, Mars should have smooth sailing and energize the fire and air signs in passing.
If well aspected natally, Mars in Aquarius might give one a knack for, and interest in, all things technological as this is the geeky Mars after all. Stephen Arroyo says this Mars is experimental and tends to have a low sex drive. I’d venture to say erratic with periods of intense sexual activity followed by little to none. Energy levels probably cycle the same way unlike Mars in Capricorn who is capable of working hard for sustained periods of time. Those of us with Mars in Scorpio, Leo and Taurus often find those with Mars in Aquarius irritating to work with because it is so not a team player, far better at working alone. Those with Mars in Aquarius will also be enjoying a boost due to undergoing their biannual Mars Return.

That Uranus station in my 4th house has been a pain in the neck. I hoping the Mars-Uranus sextile will cheer Uranus up & allow me to return to some kind of working routine once more. Family visits have been on, then off, then back on . . . almost impossible to plan around. *shakes head*

Soon I hope! For what it’s worth, my Aries hubby headed back to his job site today after working here at home for the past couple of weeks (tUranus is hovering around his ASC & Sun). And I feel today’s Mars-Uranus sextile will help too. This Uranus station turned out to be very tiresome . . .

The above rings VERY true for me – I have Mars in Aquarius in the third house conjunct my NN. I hate waiting on others, prefer to do everything myself.

Thanks for this feedback! I love having my theories validated . . . don’t you? With a rather wide Grand Trine in air (Mars, Venus, Uranus) + all your Gemini planets it makes sense you change things up frequently. Drive many Taurus folk batty?? LOL

Suddenly after all the tough challenges on my chart and life for several years, saturn through my libra 12th pummelling moon and asc, plus pluto opposing 0′cancer sun were the main doozies here, these current planetary movements are creating quite a web with excellent potential if I have the courage to burst forth so to speak and all quite relevant to the devestations/healing needed parts of my life. Pluto is still opposing my merc, but mars will conjunct my jupiter/IC conj at 5′ aqua, then my POF at 10′, my POF is natally in a grand cross with vesta in 7th, transpluto in 10th and neptune in 1st which is currently conjuncted by saturn…neptune is trining my sun in 9th house and uranus is squaring merc. Wont bore you with the details, but these transits and their positions in mainly my 4th house are exactly where I would hope to see success or what else i need to heal. Feeling quite excited in a strange sort of cautious way lol!

I don’t blame you for feeling cautious . . . those of you with 0° Cancer Suns got run over in 2010 by Saturn, Uranus & Pluto. Whilst Saturn in Scorpio is much more comfortable for Cancer, Saturn is still Saturn . . . not exactly Mr Sweetness & Light!
Bright spot this year for Cancer is the lovely Grand Trine in water formed when Jupiter enters Cancer in July (Jupiter, Saturn & Neptune).

Man the last half of 2012 has been quite a bull ride, transit-wise. Yeehaw! Luckily, I shrink from no dangers. However, Mars in Aquarius is already irritating to this uber Scorp late degree Libra. I vote for writing down some of your brilliant inventions! Uranus is solidly in your 5th house of creativity & sextile Mars in Aqua in your 3rd! Hey maybe some of those ideas might even translate into improving your income now Mercury is in Cappy (transiting your 2nd). I do love today’s Mercury-Neptune sextile for artists too.
