Time to start preparing for our ascent out of the depths on this New Moon at 21° 24′ Pisces on 11 March 2013, 12:52 PM PDT! We need to collect our treasures and carefully stow them away so we won’t lose them before we reach the surface. Don’t worry, the ascent will be slow as it will take awhile before all the planets currently in Pisces blast into Aries . . . all except that slowpoke Neptune anyways.
Signaling the need to ascend is Mars poised at 29° Pisces preparing to joyously shift into its home sign of Aries a few hours later. Directionless Pisces is a very frustrating place for the planetary action star. He likes a clear target to aim for and Pisces seldom offers those. You fire sign folk who have been suffering under the watery sky will enjoy having Mars blasting along in Aries. Cancer folk will probably find this change the most abrasive, especially after weeks of TLC from Mars in Pisces. Hey, can’t please all the people all the time, right?
Venus in Pisces sweetens the New Moon and helps bring out the gentle, appreciative side of Pisces. This Venus is an incurable romantic who believes in the healing power of love, making this is a wonderful time to meet someone and take the first, tentative steps towards falling in love. Eventually the real world will intrude as it always does but until then enjoy the moment.
On to a more jarring aspect – Jupiter in Gemini square retrograde Mercury in Pisces conjunct Chiron. I can see lively discussions revolving around who’s to blame for forgotten appointments and overlooked details. If we are not careful the blame game may descend into painful territory. Please avoid reacting in anger and risk damaging important relationships. Keep in mind Jupiter is still within orb of the sextile to Uranus in Aries who is a noted pot-stirrer. A complicating factor is Mercury beginning to slow to a crawl preparing to station direct on 17 March and chances are good our thinking may not be all that clear. Not the best time to jump to conclusions and make assumptions.
Speaking of Jupiter in Gemini . . . the Yod with Saturn in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn as the base is re-forming once again. This pattern was in effect during both the New Moon in Sagittarius and the Winter Solstice last December 2012. The Yod will be strongest on the dynamic Full Moon in Libra on 27 March 2013. I still feel it is critical not to let impatience get the better of us under this influence when planning and executing our next moves.
One small blessing is Neptune in Pisces is taking a time out for this lunation. I, for one, am quite pleased about that. LOL
As Pisces New Moons go this one is a classic example. Pisces is the twelfth sign and as such marks the ending of the yearly zodiacal cycle whilst New Moons mark the beginning of a new lunar cycle. So we end up with a confusing mix of a need to finish up old business and get everything together to start anew. The overwhelming preponderance of planets in Pisces suggests making handling old business a priority and I believe this is the best place to focus our time and energy. After all, the equinox is just around the corner and the shift into maximum Aries will begin in earnest.
On a personal note: I have a good feeling about this New Moon because it is trine my natal Mars-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio from my fourth house. Looks like an excellent time to do a little spring cleaning and, weather permitting, start working in the yard. My daffodils, crocus and tulips are sending up new growth and the grass is beginning to green up.
Drat Mercury Rx! I had the feeling I was overlooking something . . . the New Moon squares my natal Uranus thus triggering my natal Uranus-Mercury inconjunct. No wonder I’ve been feeling slightly anxious and on edge. Also overlooked Mars at 29° inconjunct my Sun. Guess I’ll be urging Mars to hurry up and reach Aries along with the rest of my fire sign friends.Libra Seeking Balance
