Observations: Magnificent Venus in Leo

Glorious Venus in Leo hair!

Glorious Venus in Leo hair!

Lovely Venus leaves Cancer’s quiet, sensitive waters to make her grand entrance into fiery Leo on Thursday, June 27. In Leo, Venus thrives on attention and admiration. She loves looking her best and is willing to do what is necessary to achieve it. It is amazing how many people with this Venus have great hair!

Almost before Venus has time to get comfortable in Leo, she will face off with Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces on 1 July 2013. The most problematical is the square to Saturn. Instead of appreciating her beauty and enjoying the show, Saturn will make her feel uncomfortable with herself and her choices. Scorpio can come off sounding like a disapproving parent with Leo and this will NOT set well. Whether we are being overly critical of our own appearance or someone else’s, please be gentle rather than harsh.

Neptune in Pisces is inconjunct to Venus in Leo. Leo and Pisces may not always understand one another but they do share an appreciation for putting on a good show. Neptune’s love of glamour is something Venus in Leo also gets into. What can be an issue is together they can get carried away by feeding the drama and romance way past the point of sanity. However there is nothing wrong with enjoying the fantasy as long as all parties set boundaries ahead of time.

On 5 July, Venus will be inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn shortly before making a fabulous trine to Uranus in Aries on 7 July. It is unhealthy controlling behaviors on the part of lovers that Pluto can inspire. Capricorn and Leo disagree about what is acceptable when out in the public eye. Leo finds Capricorn a bit stuffy and uptight whilst Capricorn is uncomfortable with Leo’s natural flamboyance. Naturally Uranus in Aries is going to right there egging Leo on to further extravagances! The time for all parties to examine their expectations is before heading out the door . . . not at the party.

Once Venus makes it past the outer planet patrol, she will have plenty of time to shine and bring joy to many people before she leaves Leo for Virgo on 22 July. Oddly enough that is day the Sun makes its annual ingress into Leo.

I love this painting by Rossetti called Lady Lilith. She seems the personification of Venus in Leo, combing her magnificent mane of fiery red hair. :D

I think you mean Venus will enter Virgo 22nd of July rather than June. :-) I can welcome Venus into Leo as she’ll eventually get to my Moon and Ascendant (maybe I should plan a hair salon appointment…). Of course I’ll also welcome Venus in Virgo as I’ll get a Venus Return then.

Meanwhile, my progressed Mercury just changed signs to Sagittarius while transiting Jupiter is sextiling my natal Mercury – ready for some free thinking?! My natal Mer and Jup are exactly sextile anyway. Btw, I never see anything about progressed Merc squaring natal Merc, but whatever – at least they’re both in mutable signs.

      Hi Les!

Thanks for catching that . . . :) I highly recommend making an appt for your hair when Venus conjoins your ASC-Moon in mid-July. :D

Ought to be helpful for maintaining a positive attitude if nothing else. I’m a bigger fan of Jupiter sextiles & trines than conjunctions. The square between your pMercury & natal Mercury seems almost redundant. LOL

“Outer planet patrol.” LOL Good one. I may not have Venus in Leo but my hair is very thick and needs to be relatively short or it starts sprouting cowlicks and gets generally shapeless.

      Hi Joe!

You do have Jupiter in Cappy inconjunct your Gemini ASC. :D Jupiter could contribute to the thickness (abundance of hair) and Gemini those quirky cowlicks.

I had to laugh because of the same thing, Joe (Venus passing the outer planet control :-)
And I also have no Venus in Leo, but a lot of (actually too much) fine thin hairs, that will not be shaped or controlled… maybe it’s because my Venus is sextile Jupiter?! (and Jup in the 1st house, so he has the last word) How about your Venus?

I agree about Venus sextile Jupiter and would add Uranus sq your ASC for “wild” hair! Like Joe, I have cowlicks that make my hair very quirky (Uranus inconj ASC) and it works best either quite short or shoulder length. I love my smoothing iron . . . :D

True, Diane! After it was cut too short, and dyed too dark, it has been growing for some time now, got a bit lighter and now I really don’t know what to do with it!
But another thought with Urnaus sq my Aquarius asc, now I understand why I have a strange preference for extreme (Uranus!) haircuts and colors, my Virgo-Libra mother really hates it, when I say: I would like to dye my hair light pink… she screams tortured: My god, you are 38, a grown woman! And pink makes your face pale. When I look in the mirror, I can see I have no face for such hair, but still I am attracted to it! :-)

LOL! Nothing like Uranus for stirring up our need to express our individualism!
