Though not quite as intense as the New Moon in Capricorn on January 1, this Full Moon at 25° 58′ Cancer on 15 January 2014, 08:83 PM PST is still strongly cardinal and tilted towards earth and water. What was set into motion on the New Moon is up for evaluation now.
Saturn in Scorpio teams up with the luminaries via a trine to the Cancer Moon and a sextile to the Capricorn Sun. Saturn brings a gentle but firm presence to the table. If we need help handling our many responsibilities or figuring out the next step to take, Saturn is our “go to” guy. Family issues tend to come out of the woodwork on this lunation and with Saturn present we may finally be able to resolve some of the stickier ones. Patience and good listening skills are still very necessary.
Of course my favorite aspect in this Full Moon chart is Mercury in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries! Brilliance and originality just ooze from this one. You need to come up with a truly unique solution? This is the aspect to help you do it. Aquarius is noted for being able to think outside the box and Uranus in Aries is the perfect partner to take those ideas one step further. This one is a big kiss to all you fire and air sign folk out there who have been in need of a boost!
The course of True Love is in for a few bumps and bruises now. Mars in Libra is the apex of a cardinal T-Square with Venus in Capricorn opposite Jupiter in Cancer as the base. Libra’s ideas about fairness and equity in relationships could run into the hidebound traditions of the Cancer-Capricorn axis with dramatic results. Ferocious arguments may ensure and result in some people choosing not to speak to each other for awhile. The key for preventing the worst outcome is a harmonious sextile to Venus from Saturn in Scorpio. Rather than making a bunch of assumptions based on emotions rather than facts, take time to quietly and respectfully talk things out. Not a good time for pitching fits and slamming doors in people’s faces.
The Uranus-Pluto square is not as actively involved in this lunation for which I am profoundly grateful. We’ve had those two big boys interfering in our lives enough in recent weeks. Another planet who continues to sit on the sidelines for now is Neptune in Pisces. However if you have personal planets or an Ascendant in the cardinal signs from 8° to 11° or in the mutable signs at 3°, you are probably dealing with these planets anyway.
Spend this Full Moon in Cancer with family or contemplating your place within your family traditions. Please remember family doesn’t have to be related by blood either. Families can form based on shared experiences, ideals and simply love. Celebrate the connections you feel with others, no matter how they have evolved.
On a personal note: The closest aspect this Full Moon makes to my chart is the lunar axis to my Scorpio Ascendant-Taurus Descendant with the Sun falling in my third house and the Moon in my ninth. Nice and innocuous. I’ll take it!
My Libra Moon will probably still be catching flack from the waning cardinal T-Square. Both Mars and Jupiter are pulling away from exactly aspects to my Moon whilst Venus makes a waxing square. Maintaining emotional balance is the ongoing challenge. Stressful.
