Cha Cha Change and Uranus Transits

Since April of last year, Uranus in Pisces has been trine my Ascendant on and off. I’m beginning to believe that for some of us there is no such thing as an “easy” transit of Uranus, especially those who have a preponderance of planets and chart angles in the fixed signs.

Often, Uranus transits to the Ascendant coincide with weight loss, and this transit has been no exception – I have lost over twenty pounds. This has been due to being unable to eat desserts of any kind, including pure chocolate, due to a severely stressed digestive system. The thing is, when I stay away from the trigger foods and do my best to minimize the stress in my life, I feel great. Pretty straightforward cause and effect – do this and feel like crap, don’t do it and feel good.

Transits to my Ascendant not only affect my Ascendant but also my Mars and Mercury, because those planets conjoin it from the twelfth house side. A natal inconjunct from Uranus to those three points gives a certain unpredictability to how a particular transit will manifest – and probably why Uranus transits are unusually stressful for me.

Because I gave away all my smaller pants, I am going to have to get new ones. Since I do not enjoy shopping (must be one of the few women on the planet who don’t) this is not something I look forward to. Our budget is very tight right now, so it may be time to head to Good Will to see what I can find.

One of the reasons I’m just now beginning to realize how profound the changes are is because Neptune has been squaring my Ascendant during this same time period. Right now it is past exact, and the fog has lifted for awhile (I have one more to go in late October-November of this year). This is just another confirmation of Neptune’s ability to obfuscate and confuse any and all issues by transit or natal aspect.

Uranus transits often are good reminders of what we need to do to take care of ourselves, and this one has been no exception. Sometimes we need to clear out old habits and sources of stress in order to replace them with healthier options. Usually, on some level, we already are aware of what needs to be done. I did. It’s eat healthy and stay awwaaaay from the goodies from here on out!

Just goes to show even an old dog can learn a new trick.

Kreativ Blogger Award!!

After thinking it over, I decided I am very honored by Jude Cowell of Stars Over Washington bestowing this award on me. Not only because she is a whiz bang mundane astrologer but more because she is a truly wonderful artist. Her artwork is whimsical, evocative and very well done. Go here to see some examples of her work.

Now . . . seven things about myself I haven’t already blabbed about in a post somewhere. Let me think.

1. When I was in the seventh grade, my parents attempted to bribe me with a trip to Disneyland courtesy of my grandparents to get me to improve my math scores. I refused to participate and my Leo brother went in my stead. I didn’t visit Disneyland until I was 43.

2. My Libra mother, Scorpio sister, Sagittarius sister and I all have our Mercury’s in Scorpio. It took a lot of doing to keep secrets around our house!

3. Something Jude Cowell and I have in common is this: As a child I too was an adept tree climber and had my favorite trees I would climb to hide from my siblings and parents. I still love trees!

4. While I have visited most of the Western states, several countries including all of the Scandinavian ones, the only place on the East Coast I’ve been is an airport in New York City.

5. My favorite form of relaxation is light reading as in urban fantasy and science fiction. My granddad always brought the latest issue of Amazing Stories and other scifi magazines with him when he visited us in the 50’s and 60’s. My mom would grab them and make me do chores before sharing them with me.

6. My husband and I live in the house I grew up in. We did do a complete remodel of the downstairs bath and gave the kitchen a face lift but otherwise it is much the same.

7. With no planets AT ALL in the second, sixth and tenth houses, I never had what most would consider a career. There is a very good reason I have counseled my nieces, nephews and step-daughters to make sure they had marketable skills to support their desired lifestyle.

Here is a list of my nominations for this award. They include several visual artists and a couple of serious writers as well as astrologers.

1. A Question of Mindfulness is a wonderful blog by a delightful Gemini who goes by the pseudonym of Hitchhiker72. While she does not consider herself an astrologer, she does have an excellent understanding of it especially when it comes to her ruling planet, Mercury.

2. My very artistic friend, Chrispito (who is off writing in Mexico right now) is in the process of rebuilding and transforming her blog on WordPress with a new name, Another Form of Silence. I love it!

3. Cosmic Guidelines is Deirdre Tanton’s blog/website. Images of her brilliant paintings show up on almost every post and she describes herself as a writer-artist-astrologer. By the way? She is very, very good at all three. Enjoy the visuals and her creativity!

4. Deborah Steinberg is one of my Libra buddies who creates beautiful cards, does Tarot readings, takes care of other people’s dogs and writes. She usually has an entertaining combination of rants and weekly posts on the Tarot card of the week.

5. Larry Fowler, of Life, Spirit and Astrology, is a decidedly eccentric Aquarius with Leo rising who is just beginning to explore the joys of blogging. He is also a writer and all around good guy who has lead an interesting and varied life.

6. Signs of Potential is a recent discovery of mine. Shannon Bowman is a self-described Pluto person who also is a writer and astrologer. She is a pretty amazing Libra but not on the fluffy side of the sign. Since I’m not either, I really, really respect what she is doing.

7. The Inner Wheel, Dawn Bodrogi’s website/blog offers some of the best information on the astrology of relationships or synastry around. I kept reading her posts on the subject going “Yeah . . . that is right on the money!!” She has been a practicing astrologer for over twenty years and is a seriously good one in my opinion.

Here are the rules/guidelines for this award. I will leave it entirely up to the recipients to decide what they want to do with. :-)

1. Copy/paste the Kreativ Blogger Award picture onto your blog
2. Thank the person who awarded it to you and post a link to her/his blog
3. Write 7 things about yourself we do not know
4. Choose 7 other bloggers to award
5. Link to them
6. Notify your 7 bloggers of their award

Thanks again, Jude, for giving me this award! Now let’s see how I do in passing this along. :::grin:::

Announcement! Moving To Libra Seeking Balance!

I’m inviting my readers to my new blog/website, Libra Seeking Balance, to look around and enjoy some very Libra ambiance. From here on out all new posts will go up there. I will continue to post notices of new posts here for awhile but sooner or later all the older posts here and on Neith on Synastry will be dismantled.

Please note I changed the domain name and URL. Those of you kind souls who have set up a link to Libra Seeking Balance in your sidebars will need to change the link. My apologies . . . :-)

Things may be a bit untidy behind the scenes and on the older posts, especially the images. Transferring posts from Blogger to WordPress can do weird things to the text as well. I will be working on editing those but it is going to an ongoing process due to the number of posts needing some work.

Thanks for your support and coming by to read and comment over the years. Hope to see everyone on the other side! :::waves:::

Something New To Look At

Looks like a new start is in the works! Lots still to do in the background though.

Ask Our Readers: Noticing Anything Different?

What a difference a week makes! We are now under a very different sky with both the Sun and Venus in Aquarius, Jupiter in Pisces, and, best of all, Mercury direct and getting back up to speed.

Sure, Mars is still retrograde in Leo, and we have the second Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn event on January 31 to deal with and those are no small potatoes. Maybe it is just me, but the atmosphere does feel lighter, and communications are improving. I’m happy with that. We still have to be ready to assume our responsibilities and be prepared to work hard, because slacking off will not be tolerated, period.

Anyone else noticing this new and improved atmosphere? Getting ready to get down to working on a new project?
