Full Moon in Scorpio May 5, 2012

© Tamara Kulikova | Dreamstime.com

This is one of the most magical, powerful lunations of the year in my opinion and at 16° 01′ Scorpio on 5 May 2012, 08:35 PM PDT this Full Moon is no exception. Even though Earth always conjoins the Moon when it is full, if Earth is the ruler of Taurus it makes this a very special lunation indeed.

There is nothing ephemeral about the Full Moon in Scorpio. It is very real, passionate and deeply involved with life in the most essential ways – birth, death and regeneration. The old feminine archetypes rule and we celebrate the mysteries whose origins are lost in time. I love thinking about Earth, or Gaia, conjoining the Moon, bringing to mind the power of being able to create new life. This is the perfect time to pay homage to our Mother and acknowledge our unending debt of gratitude to her. And to remember why it is not a good idea to cross Her . . .

Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler, is part of an amazing Grand Kite pattern along with Mars in Virgo and Ceres in Taurus. Chiron in Pisces is the planet opposing Mars in Virgo, sextile Pluto and Ceres making this a Grand Kite. Grand Kites have a bit more punch than Grand Trines because of the opposition. Mars in Virgo is the “arrow” and the focal point. In many ways, this is the perfect pattern to help us delve into our inner beings to take a long look at our expectations and seek out the flaws in our belief system (Chiron). Ceres will be there to provide a nurturing touch and help us from getting too discouraged. Forgiveness is a huge part of any healing process as is the need to remain as non-judgmental as possible. Pluto both fuels the need to dig deep and the knife to open old wounds, allowing them to drain. Mars in Virgo is very well suited to going over the details but since it is also exactly inconjunct Uranus in Aries, it will be less patient than usual. Go easy on the criticism – both of yourself and others.

For those who have struggled getting motivated due to the Mars-Neptune opposition in play over the past couple of weeks, it is finally beginning to wane. From here forward this energy sapping opposition will be history!

On the fire and air side are Mercury in Aries, Venus in Gemini and Saturn in Libra. Mercury has Saturn opposing it and Venus sextile to it, helping us find the tactful thing to say to our nearest and dearest. Jupiter in Taurus is semi-sextile both Mercury and Venus, so ‘over the top’ statements and gestures are likely. For those who prefer to keep things light and cheerful, these are the planets making that possible.

There is something for everyone on this wonderful lunation. If you are of a mind to go deep within and meditate on who you are and your place in the greater scheme of Life, this is an excellent time to do so. If your preference is to enjoy the beauties of the season and refresh your spirit in the process, go for it. Tolerance and acceptance of diversity is never out of season or out of style.

On a personal note: This is a sixth house-twelfth house lunation for me and consequently I usually end up dwelling on whether or not I’m putting enough into being of service to others. With my natal Mercury and Jupiter catching the most aspects, I’m sure more “stuff” will well up out of the depths to be processed too. Who knows what that will inspire!

The Sun, Jupiter and Ceres in Taurus are all in my sixth house these days nagging at me about getting out and working in the garden. They insist it will be good for me to get some fresh air and sunshine! *grin*

Observations: Pluto and the Grand Trine in Earth

© Diane Lang

I was going to write a lighthearted article about Taurus and gardening but instead I find myself writing about Pluto once more probably due to Mercury squaring Pluto this morning and this week’s Grand Trine with Pluto in Capricorn, Mars in Virgo and the Sun in Taurus.

That is one sweet Grand Trine in earth! It demonstrates all the wonderful possibilities of the three earth signs working together. Taurus is naturally good at being productive; Virgo acts as both quality control and the middle man with Capricorn overseeing the whole operation. Whilst this may not be the speediest team, it can be extremely efficient and dependable.

The trickiest element of the three is Pluto in Capricorn because one thing Pluto forces us to do eventually is face reality whether we want to or not and Pluto in Capricorn is going to continue to reveal those instances of extremely bad management practices. If you have been very lucky, you’ve worked for at least one really good boss who was effective without being offensive and overbearing. Good leadership leads to win-win scenarios with everyone from the top down feeling like they are a valued member of the company . . . thus increasing productivity.

If you are undergoing one of Pluto’s gentle transits to your personal planets or Angles, you know he doesn’t let up until you’ve finally acknowledged the futility of ignoring what he wants you to learn about yourself. Pluto is always about power no matter what sign he is in and he always demands nothing less than total honesty. Misuse of power and authority are what he will be going after in Capricorn. He is in the process of teaching lessons in humility to those individuals who have done exactly that. Remember how high Capricorn Tiger Woods was flying not all that long ago or those Secret Service men whose arrogance and pride contributed to their downfall. Yeah . . . go Pluto!

Whilst most of us have horror stories about the boss from Hell, I would love to hear about the really good ones and what you felt they did/do right. Now more than ever, we need to focus on the positive side of Pluto in Capricorn. After all, the first exact square from Uranus in Aries is right around the corner.

New Moon in Aries, March 22, 2012

© Susan Seddon Boulet

What’s not to like about this New Moon at 02° 22′ Aries, March 22, 2012 07:37 AM PDT? It signals the true beginning of the astrological New Year and conjoins an extremely energizing Uranus in Aries. However, if you go dashing off full speed ahead you could end falling flat on your face even with the empowering Grand Trine in earth.

The driving force of the Aries stellium (Sun, Moon, Mercury and Uranus) yearns for total freedom and it isn’t going to get it – too many obstacles and blockages to get around. First there is the small detail of Aries’ ruler, Mars, still being retrograde in Virgo, second, Saturn in Libra is inconjunct the New Moon and last but not least Mercury is retrograde.

Usually the Aries New Moon is the perfect time to implement plans and launch new projects, and we can do that . . . as long as we have several backup options already in place. Mars in Virgo is going to insist on having all the proper forms filled out in triplicate, all the financing verified and everything cleared with the proper authorities. Saturn in Libra’s job is to ensure equity for all parties through compromise and cooperation. Anytime Mercury is retrograde in impatient Aries, please speak slowly and clearly because the mind often is racing ahead of the mouth!

Something else to be aware of is the semi-sextile of Neptune in Pisces to retrograde Mercury. If something sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Sentiment can interfere with making sensible decisions and thus wreck havoc with budgets, etc; and wishful thinking is another hazard under this influence.

On the plus side, we have the ongoing, very productive Grand Trine with Mars in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn. Jeff Jawer of StarIQ offers a terrific explanation of how these three planets work together for everyone’s benefit – Grand Trine in Earth Sign, March 12-14, 2012. The Grand Trine ties into the New Moon via an inconjunct from Mars in Virgo. Yes, that’s far from ideal but it still allows us to tap into the resources and power created by the Grand Trine. If we take care to approach problem solving, particularly related to finances, with care, thoughtfulness and practicality we can accomplish great things. The main caveat is there are bound to be delays on the implementation side and to plan accordingly.

Lovely Venus in Taurus is essentially operating on her own on this lunation, allowing those who have planets and Angles from 16° to 19° in the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) to enjoy her sweetness with no strings attached. Earth sign folk (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) along with Venus ruled Libra, get kisses too. It is OK to enjoy life now and then!

As long as we don’t get ahead of ourselves, we can benefit from the influx of new ideas and enthusiasm generated by this New Moon. Use the time wisely and abandon notions of instant gratification, because this is a great time for planting seeds for long term goals. It’s all about practicing patience until you can’t STAND it anymore!!

On a personal note: The only conjunction for me is Saturn sitting on my natal Chiron in Libra, always good for reminding me about all the ways I shoot myself in the foot. :D Otherwise, the New Moon stellium in Aries is trine my natal Venus in Sagittarius and Mars in Virgo is sextile my Jupiter in Scorpio – both pleasant aspects that will hopefully bring new inspiration for creative ways to improve my income.

P.S. Mercury will be stationing direct on 4 April and Mars on13 April . . . *grin*

Libra Weekly Horoscopes for March 12, 2012

© Diane Lang

If you have planets or Angles in early cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), you will probably be driven by Mercury stationing and essentially conjunct Uranus in Aries the entire week. I’m sure this will cause plenty of restless activity and sudden shifts in direction but I’m also doubtful how much will have been accomplished by the time the dust settles. If you can, grab the best of the ideas flashing by and make notes to go back over later.

For those with earth sign (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) dominated charts, a whole different scenario presents its self. Venus in Taurus, Mars in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus and powerful Pluto in Capricorn all dance together in perfect harmony. There are plans to draw up, money to be made and, in some cases, love to nurture under the aegis of these planets.

No matter what, we all need to remember both Mercury and Mars are retrograde and even the best laid plans made under these skies will require some reworking later on. Don’t let that stop anyone though because we have to start somewhere. Take it from a Libra . . . the road to making sound decisions is seldom smooth!

This is also the final week before the equinox and the beginning of the astrological New Year on 19 March. Any last minute housecleaning, both internal and external, needs to be done NOW!

Staying physically active is best for you now, Aries, and for the next few weeks if you don’t want to end up totally scattered and overwhelmed. You’re probably going to be easily distracted too, so be patient with yourself and others. Listen actively.

Not much is going to distract you, Taurus, from accomplishing what you have in mind, particularly if it looks like you can turn a serious profit. Practical application is your forte and you are coming up with all kinds of great ideas in that regard.

Whilst you usually very much enjoy learning new things, Gemini, this week could bring too much to assimilate. Yes, you may be frustrated to the point of tears but hang in there. Take a note from Virgo’s handbook and organize the data into digestible portions.

Brace yourself, Cancer, for getting hit with a flood of work related communications. Remind your boss you are only one person as tactfully as possible because he/she may be very short tempered now. Your colleagues and friends will be unusually supportive this week.

Jump all over any opportunities to expand your horizons now, Leo, even though it may be awhile before you see any results. Continue to concentrate on doing whatever you can to pursue your career goals and improving your financial situation. Rest later . . .

Yes, you may run into some blockages and frustrations now, Virgo, but those may be offset by a general atmosphere of goodwill coming your way. If you do start to feel stressed and irritable, take a step back and breathe. Be nice to yourself!

You may be pulled in two very different directions, Libra. One way leads to fast moving excitement with plenty of surprises and the other is all about moving slowly and deliberately through each day. What you’ll likely end up with is an unsettling mixture of each.

If you’re intent on putting together a business plan, Scorpio, please include your partner (either personal or business). They will give you constructive feedback and may even bring some potential investors on board. Take time to play if you can this week.

It would be in your best interests to pull yourself away from a new and exciting love interest, Sagittarius, and devote this week to tackling your finances. Solid improvements can be made if you put some serious effort into it. Go for it!

Other than some unanticipated demands from your family cropping up here and there, you are feeling more in charge of your life than ever, Capricorn. Patient, tactful handling of family emergencies will take its toll though. Reward yourself with a fun evening out.

Others will recall why Uranus is your ruling planet this week, Aquarius! You will have no problem coming up with brilliant but eccentric ideas. The challenge will be explaining them in layman’s terms to your close friends and family members. Good luck with that.

If you make a point of only hanging out with your favorite people this week (your significant other, your peers and close friends), Pisces, things should go swimmingly. However, there might be some glitches in your cash flow . . . if so, get right on those.

If you know your Rising sign, read the horoscope for it too. :D

Full Moon in Virgo, March 8, 2012

Enjoy this kinder, gentler Full Moon at 18° 13″ Virgo on 8 March 2012, 1:39 AM PST with its lovely Grand Trine in earth and divine Venus-Neptune sextile. Earth and water signs dominate with one small but mighty exception . . . a dynamic Mercury-Uranus conjunction in fiery Aries.

Maybe I better start with the whizz bang conjunction in Aries, largely because it IS a Full Moon in Mercury ruled Virgo after all. This aspect is exact on 5 March and will be again on 18 March due to Mercury stationing retrograde on 12 March . . . drawing out the effects of this conjunction for several weeks. If you have planets or Angles from 0° to 6° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), batten down the hatches ‘cause your mind will be all over the place. Whenever Mercury teams up with Uranus, it opens the door to brilliant ideas and may cause a tendency to stutter because our minds are working so fast, our mouths have trouble keeping up. The best thing about the upcoming Mercury Retch is it will give us a chance to explore our bright ideas a little deeper than usual.

Mercury-Uranus is also connected by semi-sextiles to Neptune and Chiron in Pisces on one side and Venus in Taurus on the other. The Venus-Neptune sextile is sublime, sensual and perfect for connecting with your true love and waxing ridiculously sentimental. However, Chiron in the mix suggests there may be emotional baggage to deal with and Uranus-Mercury says said baggage could be exposed abruptly and totally tactlessly. Ouch! Just take your time and unwrap a few illusions before you commit, OK?

Saturn in Libra is still in position to offer his help via a trine to Neptune and an opposition to Venus in Taurus as well as an inconjunct to Uranus. He is the voice of caution whispering in your ear and urging you to take things slowly. If you are talking marriage, something Saturn in Libra supports, you may want to look into pre-nuptial agreements of various kinds such as keeping your finances separate, etc. Throwing caution to the winds for the sake of Love could come back to haunt you down the road. [If you’re wondering why I’m going on about all this stuff, remember Saturn in Libra is setting on my Libra Sun as I write . . .]

My vote for most helpful configuration for this lunation is the Grand Trine in earth (Mars Rx in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn). Since Mars is widely conjunct the Moon, we all stand to benefit in one way or another. Family connections and emotional ties hold the key to channeling this energy for improving our financial situations. Practical help with all the necessary checks and balances may be offered. Capricorn and Taurus both believe in earning your way but they also believe in rewarding hard work. If you are offered a starting role of some kind, take it because over the long run it may lead to much better things. Mars in Virgo will be on hand to help you get through all the fine print.

Use this Full Moon wisely to review what’s going in your life and considering your next direction. The peaceful, practical atmosphere is very good for making sensible choices. You will be very, very glad you did all your prep work before the next lunation . . . an extremely hyper New Moon in Aries on 22 March with both Mercury and Mars retrograde – guaranteed to intensify frustration! Better practice being kind and tolerant now. *grin*

On a personal note: Other than harmonious aspects from the Sun and Moon to my Mars in Scorpio, I pretty much get a pass on this Full Moon. Saturn will finally have left 29° Libra after seven looong weeks partile my Sun . . . whew! Mars in Virgo has finished his second pass over my MC and is now back in my ninth house, taking pressure off. Gee, maybe the weather will turn off nice and I will be able to enjoy hints of spring in the air!! :D
