Ask Real Astrologers: Pluto on Progressed Ascendant

Libra ponders . . .

This week’s question comes from Fumi in the UK:

My Progressed Ascendant is going to be conjunct the full moon in Sagittarius in June, and transiting Pluto is going to retrograde back to and station on my Progressed Ascendant. My Progressed AC will also trine my progressed Uranus. I would like to know your opinion of what this is all likely to mean.

I also have my progressed Jupiter conjunct my progressed 2nd house cusp, as well as transiting Pluto trining my natal and progressed Uranus. After Pluto’s intense 12-year period in Sagittarius, I am seriously meditating on bringing [...]

The Second House in Synastry: Follow the $$

going to the heart of the matter

With the Sun and Mercury now in Taurus with Venus joining them May 1, it’s a good time to consider how the second house works in synastry.

Taurus is the ruler of the second house and is noted for being fond of material things like good food, silky fabrics, and a healthy bank account. One of the most contentious areas in relationships is often money – or, rather, our attitudes about money, shown by the second house.

One of the reasons an accurate birth time is important in determining compatibility is that it establishes where the Ascendant falls, [...]

Bits and Pieces

Last week I guest posted for Lynn Hayes on Astrodynamics along with Dharmaruci (Astrotabletalk) and fortunately Mercury moved into Sagittarius and was transiting my first house, conjuncting Venus because I felt the need to put my best foot forward and write a lot! It was a great experience and I gained a whole new level of appreciation for the time Lynn puts into her blog.

Another adventure in networking is joining Elizabeth Spring as a team member on her new blog, North Node Astrology! She is a great astrologer/counselor and welcomes comments and feedback, so please stop over [...]

The Jupiter Effect – Positive or Neutral

As we approach the transition of Jupiter from the yang, Fire sign of Sagittarius to the yin, Earth sign of Capricorn on December 18th, I find myself considering the effect Jupiter has. In traditional astrology, Jupiter and Venus are called “Beneficent” and when they show up in charts and by transit, they are said to bring all that is good. That sounds wonderful but it is not my personal experience in my own life or in the lives of those whose charts I’ve read.

Since I have a natal Sun/Jupiter conjunction, albeit out-of-sign, Jupiter plays an important role [...]

A Look at Out-of-Sign Aspects . . . late in the game

dawn rainbow

I have been a student of Astrology for many years, sometimes focused intently and sometimes not. For some reason, the awareness of how out-of-sign aspects work is just beginning to penetrate my consciousness. Why that is I’m not sure . . . maybe having Neptune transiting my 3rd House is actually causing the fog to life. With Neptune, one never quite knows what to expect.

In my natal chart the Sun forms an out-of-sign conjunction to Jupiter, essentially this all takes place in my 12th House. It’s been gradually dawning on me that I’m at heart an [...]
