Mutable Midheaven Reinvention Time

Ask Real Astrologers: Moon's Nodes in Synastry

Libra ponders . . .

 Our question this week comes from Jennifer.

How would you recommend someone handle synastry where someone’s planet is conjunct another person’s node? Even though it’s not a romantic relationship, somehow this makes me feel extremely obligated and bound to the person, and I don’t quite know what to do about it. With the people who are bugging me, one has Venus conjunct my South Node (and conjunct their North), the other has Venus conjunct my North Node. Even worse, that one’s my mother. Post Saturn in Leo . . . whew!! Now onto Saturn in Virgo – no worries, right?!

Now that Saturn has moved on into Virgo and away from aspecting my Sun, I’m beginning to feel more like myself again. Saturn aspecting the Sun by transit always catches me off-guard with the weight and intensity he brings, no matter what the aspect is. This particular transit was also part of my Second Saturn Return. It took place in my 9th House and now that Saturn’s weight is starting to lift some of the effects are beginning to surface.

Cycles – Moon Nodes, Ceres & Juno

We held the memorial service for my mother yesterday which went off quite well. Today I’m exhausted but feeling some internal shifts have been resolved. A good thing . . . . When I looked at my chart to see what was going on, three different aspects jumped out.

First, the transiting Nodes have just completed squaring my natal Nodes – basically forming a Grand Cross on the Angles. It just makes sense that resolving issues surrounding my mother’s death, the deepening relationship with my father and my self-image undergoing yet another metamorphosis all come into play.
