Observations: What a New Moon!

© Diane Lang

Yesterday’s New Moon in Cancer had teeth . . . at least for me. It triggered so many different points in my chart I ended up overloaded and had to take some down time. Between the Saturn in Libra-New Moon square affecting my Libra Sun and Mars in Libra with all its baggage conjoining my Neptune, it was like an energy tsunami rolling over me.

This is always a very busy time of year around here with garden produce to harvest and all the other outside chores. As someone who lives with an Aries [...]

Libra Weekly Horoscopes for July 16, 2012

Pace yourself this week because it is going to be an intense one! Mars in Libra starts with an excitement creating sextile to the big boy, Jupiter in Gemini, before he ticks off first Pluto in Capricorn, then Uranus in Aries . . . and all of this by Wednesday and the New Moon in Cancer.

It is the New Moon in Cancer on July 18 that is the focal point of the week. Saturn in Libra squaring the Sun and Moon in Cancer will hopefully act as the brakes for all [...]

New Moon in Cancer, July 18, 2012

This story of this New Moon at 26° 55′ Cancer on 18 July 2012 at 09:25 PM PDT revolves around two different signatures, one being Saturn in Libra squaring the New Moon and the other a complex pattern featuring a Cradle Pattern, T-Square and a Yod all anchored by small, dense Pluto in Capricorn. Most importantly what is started under this New Moon will have lasting effects and we better be darn good and sure we know we’re about.

Squares teach us about the pitfalls of making assumptions better than any other aspect. Saturn [...]

New Moon in Cancer, Solar Eclipse, July 21-22, 2009

The New Moon on July 21 (July 22 in the Eastern Hemisphere) is the second New Moon in Cancer this year. Backed by the power of a solar eclipse, this is another momentous lunation we will be dealing with. At 29° 26′ Cancer, the anaretic degree, this eclipse combines a clear sense of completion with the usual new beginning energy of a New Moon.

This New Moon forms an inconjunct to Neptune, Chiron, and Jupiter in Aquarius. Ordinarily, I would not give much weight to an inconjunct with an orb of 4 degrees, but since these three planets have [...]

New Moon in Cancer, June 22, 2009

Summer solstice at Stonehenge, 2007

The New Moon at 1° 30′ Cancer arrives the day after the solstice (summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the southern) and is the first of two New Moons in Cancer this year, placing special emphasis on all things related to the fourth house and the Moon – our mothers, our roots, where we feel “at home,” and how we view nurturing of both ourselves and others.

Not only are both the Sun and Moon in Cancer, but they are joined by Vesta, deepening the healing, nurturing side of the watery sign. Vesta’s idea of nurturance is [...]
