Real Astrologer's Poll: Do You Want the Bad News?

heart-moon-350-px.jpg

With Venus and Mars traveling together for the next two months in Aries (Mars-ruled) and Taurus (Venus-ruled), we expect a lot of activity in the realm of romantic relationships.

Experience tells us that when clients ask about synastry with a new love interest, they don’t want to hear bad news, even though we try to deliver it gently. But we’d like to hear directly from you on this point. Do you want to know or not?

More on Synastry and Reality

Over the years, I’ve seen examples of both great synastry and no relationship; and mediocre synastry with a great relationship. It all goes back to the individual and their expectations of themselves as a partner as well as of a partner. This is one of those circumstances where being both an astrologer and a counselor helps.

Speaking of astrologer/counselors, Donna Cunningham has a wonderful series of posts on reducing our fears in these stressful times. Go to the sidebar on her blog and click on the “Freedom of Fear” link. After reading the post on shields, I promptly reset [...]

Saturday Archives: Shared Degrees in Synastry

The Lovers Osho Zen tarot deck

I got to thinking about why we are drawn to certain people whether we met them face-to-face or online and it has a lot to do with having planets and Angles within a few degrees of each other. As an astrologer I have consistently noted my clients have planets sharing degrees with those in my chart and I just read in John Townley’s book, The Composite Chart, he and other astrologers have a similar experience.

Shared Degrees are one of basic pieces in the puzzle of synastry. The short version is simply when the same degrees show up [...]

Ask Real Astrologers: Sun Signs in Synastry

Libra ponders . . .

This week’s question comes from Angelica in Samoa:

Virgo is compatible with Taurus and least compatible with Sagittarius, right? Well, I’ve been in a two-year relationship with a Sag, but have been having feelings for a Taurus man. I know that the stars say I would do better with this Taurus, but my Sag boyfriend just won’t let me go. And I am also finding it hard to let go. He’s been more than faithful and I truly feel he is the one. One of my fears is that later on, the predicted bachelor side will eventually kick in [...]

Ask Real Astrologers: Moon's Nodes in Synastry

Libra ponders . . .

Our question this week comes from Jennifer.

How would you recommend someone handle synastry where someone’s planet is conjunct another person’s node? Even though it’s not a romantic relationship, somehow this makes me feel extremely obligated and bound to the person, and I don’t quite know what to do about it. With the people who are bugging me, one has Venus conjunct my South Node (and conjunct their North), the other has Venus conjunct my North Node. Even worse, that one’s my mother. I am constantly irritated with her, but it feels like I’m married to her! I think [...]
