Week of June 8, 2015

Easy going week ahead as long as we don’t forget Mercury in Gemini is crawling along towards the moment it stations direct and Neptune in Pisces is stationing retrograde shortly thereafter. Oh yeah . . . Saturn returns to Scorpio on Sunday. But other than those three events, it’s a great week. :)

Fire and air signs completely rule the skies this week now that Venus has entered Leo, giving us four planets in fire until Saturn moves back into Scorpio on Sunday. Jupiter in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries are the other three. The Sun, Mercury and Mars are all in airy Gemini leaving only Neptune in Pisces representing water and Pluto in Capricorn, earth. What this means is we will be long on enthusiasm and theories but short on empathy and pragmatism. Did I mention Mercury was still retrograde until Thursday? All too often plans made when Mercury is retrograde or at a standstill end up being revised considerably.

The litany of aspects between those fire and air planets is long and begins on Monday with a sextile between the Gemini Sun and Jupiter in Leo, followed by Mars in Gemini sextile Uranus in Aries in the wee hours Tuesday morning. Then we have Mercury in Gemini sextile Venus in Leo and the Gemini Sun sextile Uranus in Aries on Wednesday. That’s a LOT of wildly creative, vibrant energy swirling around! Very exciting!

I really hate to rain on people’s parade but it may be wise to resist the temptation to immediately implement those brilliant ideas filling our heads the first part of the week. If you think of them as rough drafts instead it would be good. We have some speed bumps the latter half of the week plus potential verbal explosions when the Gemini Sun conjoins Mars on Sunday. Write those ideas down and prepare to make some serious revisions in the coming weeks.

I don’t see Mercury and Neptune stations as negative events but they do require us to slow down and pay attention. Running head long through dense fog isn’t too bright and we may have some dense mental fog to navigate Thursday and Friday. In this extremely fast paced world where we can communicate almost instantly around the globe via the internet, when something occurs to prevent that from happening people freak out. Take it from an old lady who remembers what it was like before email, texts and all the delights of smart phones, etc, it won’t be the end of the world.

Saturn creeps back into Scorpio on Sunday where it will remain until mid-September. This is the last visit for another twenty nine years. Whew! It only moves back to 28° before going direct August 1, 2015. Saturn moving back and forth over 28° and 29° speaks clearly of the need for closure of some kind. I bet most of us already know exactly what needs to be concluded for once and for all, don’t we?

Mutable Pisces Moon Monday and Tuesday will help us remain flexible and open to adapting to whatever occurs. When the Moon moves into Aries on Wednesday it can increase the tension and generally pushiness. Thursday is cardinal crunch day when the Aries Moon squares Pluto early and conjoins Uranus in the afternoon. Impatience may make people very short tempered and feelings could get stomped on. After the Moon enters earthy Taurus on Friday morning it will help us pace ourselves and take stock of what has happened over the course of the week. We still have a Taurus Moon Saturday which is good for working in the garden and around the house. On Sunday the Moon arrives in Gemini during the morning and entices us to call some friends and play.

All we need to gain the most benefit from this week is be smart and move slowly. Inspiration can be refined and hammered into something truly helpful for ourselves and others. You can always run your best ideas past a solid, pragmatic earth sign friend before making them public. Please don’t forget to practice patience!

Fiery Grand Trine – Vesta, Venus & Saturn

This weekend there is another influence at work and it is a Grand Trine in fire composed of Venus in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius and Vesta in Aries. Vesta teaches us about purity of intent and how to hold a place within ourselves inviolate. In Aries she is not going to be tactful about getting message across either. We have every reason to be grateful for the softening effects of all those trines.

Venus in Leo cheerfully teaches us about celebrating our uniqueness and taking delight in sharing that with our loved ones. One of the highest expressions of Saturn in Sagittarius is to discover your inner values and be true to those come hell or high water. When Vesta in Aries is added to in to this equation we come up with the means to be true to our personal vision of our best selves in a joyful manner.

While this energy is available for all to tap into, it is those of us with personal planets in the fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) from 0° to 2° who have the best chance of using it the best. This Grand Trine will be in effect from June 6 to June 9 before Venus moves out of orb. Enjoy the blessings while they last.

Eventful Day with a Void-of-Course Cappy Moon

red, orange lilies with clematis

Very active sky today! Capricorn Moon goes void-of-course after squaring Uranus in Aries at dawn, Venus embraces her inner drama queen when she enters Leo this morning and a Mars in Gemini-Jupiter in Leo sextile ignites our energy late this afternoon. It’s going to get noisy, like when you walk into a room full of people all talking at once which makes hearing any one voice very challenging. Hey, smile and nod! The volume levels will gradually return to normal over the weekend after the Moon enters Aquarius late tonight.

One very important fact to keep in mind for the next week is Mercury in Gemini is slowing to a crawl preparing to go direct on June 11. After Venus enters Leo today we will have a predominately fire and air filled sky and many people will be up for anything that sounds like fun. However getting plans solidified may prove to be challenging due to irregular communications. Allow extra time to put plans into motion no matter how frustrating that is in the heat of the moment.

Today’s Gemini Sun inconjunct to Pluto in Capricorn at 14° marks the end of the influence of the Yod with Mars in Gemini and Jupiter in Leo on the Full Moon. The inconjunct between Jupiter and Pluto is fading too. It will become easier to ignore authoritarian types with all their petty rules and start to enjoy life again.

Week of June 1, 2015

The easing continues this week with an optimistic Full Moon in Sagittarius and Venus making her entrance on Friday into Leo, where she transforms into a glamour queen. Venus in Leo is vivid, outgoing and often the life of the party.

If there is one nagging point of discomfort it swirls around Pluto in Capricorn and its inconjuncts to Mars (Tuesday) and the Sun in Gemini (Friday). Since Jupiter in Leo is currently making a sustained inconjunct to Pluto in Capricorn at 15°, any time one of planets making their way through Gemini is sextile Jupiter it creates at Yod with Pluto at the apex. I have discussed this Yod in the last two lunation posts, the Taurus New Moon and the Sagittarius Full Moon. This source of irritation gradually fades away next week as Jupiter pulls away from retrograde Pluto.

Friday looks to be a lively day all the way around. Venus transitions to Leo and a pleasing trine with Saturn in Sagittarius early Saturday. Mars in Gemini gets a huge boost in energy from a sextile to Jupiter in Leo. Once the Moon shifts into Aquarius Friday night, we will have eight planets in fire and air, leaving only Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn in water and earth. Put this together with more planets in mutable signs and it’s going to feel a lot like Sagittarius Season. Optimism pervades the atmosphere, perhaps to the point of irrational exuberance.

If you are thinking of planning social occasions, this weekend is quite favorable. The comfortable trine between Venus in Leo and Saturn in Sagittarius is perfect for family parties where both children and adults are present. All the Gemini planets are in perfect harmony with the Aquarius Moon, great for eclectic gatherings which include people from all walks of life.

Nice, calm start to Monday under the aegis of the reserved Scorpio Moon. Once the Moon enters fiery Sagittarius midday it conjoins Saturn who reins in this adventurous Moon. The brilliant Sagittarius Full Moon happens on Tuesday and on Wednesday it is void-of-course most of the day. Capricorn Moon begins Wednesday evening and does its best to be business-like on Thursday. Thursday is the day the Moon conjoins Pluto in the evening and it will be early Friday morning before it squares Uranus in Aries. The Capricorn Moon goes void-of-course at dawn and is overshadowed by the other planetary activity on Friday. Aquarius Moon presides over the entire weekend.

From now until the Sun enters Cancer, fire and air dominate the sky. Explore new ideas, enjoying meeting new people and generally motivate about. Change still remains the constant though and one of these fine days, we’ll see more earth and water begin to filter back in.

Libra Weekly Horoscopes for September 1, 2014

Two changes happen this week I feel are going to be very welcome. The first is Mercury leaving meticulous Virgo for tactful airy Libra on September 1-2 bringing some much needed air to the sky. We haven’t had any planets in air except the Moon since Mars left Libra for Scorpio on July 25 and it has felt like we’ve been sliding deeper into subjectivity ever since.

The second change is Venus leaving outgoing Leo for reserved Virgo on September 5. Venus was the center of more than one controversy in Leo and ended up getting her feelings hurt by Mars and Saturn in Scorpio. She’ll perk up during this last week before leaving Leo because no one getting on her case. Those who have personal planets in Leo from 25° to 29° in Leo should get a lift as she goes by on her way by to Virgo. Venus may not be as sparkly in Virgo but she will get on better with all the outer planets with the exception of Uranus in Aries. Which is something Taurus and Libra will appreciate because an unhappy Venus can be depressing for those Venus ruled signs.

The only aspect Mercury in Libra makes this week is an inconjunct to Neptune in Pisces on Saturday when some absentmindedness may occur. If you have weekend plans, be sure to make the arrangements ahead of time so you don’t have to think over much for a day or so. We may be more susceptible to sob stories under this influence.

Solidly favorable Virgo Sun-Pluto in Capricorn trine midweek keeps the engines of commerce humming. Perfect for keeping both feet firmly planted in reality! No day dreaming with this one. There is a kindly Virgo Sun-Chiron in Pisces opposition over the weekend and while it might not make headlines, it can help us identify the source of pain in our psyches which is the first step to beginning the healing process.

Another exact aspect that may cause waves in some circles is the exact inconjunct between bombastic Jupiter in Leo and deeply reserved Pluto in Capricorn. This event occurs at 11° and should have the greatest impact on those with personal planets between 10° – 12° in the fixed signs and cardinal signs. Bold plans for expansion in the area of your chart where Leo falls could meet with profound resistance from the house ruled by Capricorn. In my case with Pluto solidly in my second house of resources and Jupiter transiting my ninth house of travel, let’s just say I foresee no long distance traveling in my future! The budget will not permit.

There is a little something to keep everyone happy this week. For the air signs, we have Mercury in Libra, fire signs still have Venus and Jupiter in Leo boosting their spirits, Sun in Virgo soothes the earth signs, while water signs are relishing the power of Mars and Saturn in Scorpio gives them. Overall we have a chance to catch our breath and maybe squeeze in some time to enjoy ourselves!

If you know your Rising sign, please read the horoscope for it too. 😀

Last week’s roadblocks should continue to ease now and reduce your overall frustration levels, Aries, and I’m sure this will be appreciated by those around you. One recommendation I have for you is to be sure to take practical considerations into account when making career related decisions this coming week.

In general this week looks very favorable for you, Taurus, because the focus is on the here and now with no grand schemes and high flying ideas being presented as workable. The simple, practical approach you do so well ought to work fine and bring you well deserved recognition.

If you have felt your mind was getting bogged down in too many picky details lately, Gemini, prepare for a refreshing change this week. A welcome feeling of objectivity and detachment returns to your thinking. Your mind picks up speed and darts around snatching up tasty bits on information once again.

Something many of you enjoy, Cancer, is investigating your family roots and now is a good time to sit down and chat with older family members about the past. You also ought to enjoy the more grounded atmosphere this week too. Consider spending more time this weekend with close friends or your siblings.

Party time is really and truly coming to an end for you after this week, Leo. Don’t worry . . .you will still be able to maintain your optimistic attitude in the days ahead. However, you do need to start paying attention to boring things like your budget and what you need to do improve your earning capacity. There’s always next year!

More favorable attention starts to come your way later this week, Virgo, so please put a nice smile of your face and accept it graciously. Whether you realize it or not, you deserve it! Most of you go out of your way to help others quietly but very effectively. Good for you!

Libra, you can finally look forward to feeling like you are able to make yourself understood again. After weeks of attempting to help others see there is usually more than one side to any issue, you should start to see some progress now as it becomes easier for everyone to be more objective.

Scorpio, the intensity of last week begins to ease now and the pressure to stand firm should begin to relax. It is a good time to reconnect with your network of friends and associates too. An odd situation may develop at work later this week where you might be put in an awkward position with a superior.

The main focus for you, Sagittarius, continues to be your career and long term goals. You might even begin to receive some good reviews for a job well done soon! One thing may become clear later this week is the need to rethink travel plans due to a lack of funds.

On the whole you should have a pretty decent week, Capricorn, and conversations with your employer may go better than you might have anticipated. However be cautious about how you come across if you end up talking about ideas for investing joint resources. Tact will probably be needed . . . desperately!

Aquarius, you are another who ought to sincerely appreciate being able to have rational discussions with people again. As much as you’ve enjoyed the Leo show, you know it had to come to an end sometime. You might wish to encourage your partner to forego some of their more outrageous schemes for now.

Express your appreciation for your significant other, Pisces, because you know they deserve it and also take the time to encourage them to share their hopes and fears with you. As you know, being an active listener who responds with care and compassion can make a big difference.
