Libra Weekly Horoscopes for September 1, 2014

Two changes happen this week I feel are going to be very welcome. The first is Mercury leaving meticulous Virgo for tactful airy Libra on September 1-2 bringing some much needed air to the sky. We haven’t had any planets in air except the Moon since Mars left Libra for Scorpio on July 25 and it has felt like we’ve been sliding deeper into subjectivity ever since.

The second change is Venus leaving outgoing Leo for reserved Virgo on September 5. Venus was the center of more than one controversy in Leo and ended up getting her feelings hurt by Mars and Saturn in Scorpio. She’ll perk up during this last week before leaving Leo because no one getting on her case. Those who have personal planets in Leo from 25° to 29° in Leo should get a lift as she goes by on her way by to Virgo. Venus may not be as sparkly in Virgo but she will get on better with all the outer planets with the exception of Uranus in Aries. Which is something Taurus and Libra will appreciate because an unhappy Venus can be depressing for those Venus ruled signs.

The only aspect Mercury in Libra makes this week is an inconjunct to Neptune in Pisces on Saturday when some absentmindedness may occur. If you have weekend plans, be sure to make the arrangements ahead of time so you don’t have to think over much for a day or so. We may be more susceptible to sob stories under this influence.

Solidly favorable Virgo Sun-Pluto in Capricorn trine midweek keeps the engines of commerce humming. Perfect for keeping both feet firmly planted in reality! No day dreaming with this one. There is a kindly Virgo Sun-Chiron in Pisces opposition over the weekend and while it might not make headlines, it can help us identify the source of pain in our psyches which is the first step to beginning the healing process.

Another exact aspect that may cause waves in some circles is the exact inconjunct between bombastic Jupiter in Leo and deeply reserved Pluto in Capricorn. This event occurs at 11° and should have the greatest impact on those with personal planets between 10° – 12° in the fixed signs and cardinal signs. Bold plans for expansion in the area of your chart where Leo falls could meet with profound resistance from the house ruled by Capricorn. In my case with Pluto solidly in my second house of resources and Jupiter transiting my ninth house of travel, let’s just say I foresee no long distance traveling in my future! The budget will not permit.

There is a little something to keep everyone happy this week. For the air signs, we have Mercury in Libra, fire signs still have Venus and Jupiter in Leo boosting their spirits, Sun in Virgo soothes the earth signs, while water signs are relishing the power of Mars and Saturn in Scorpio gives them. Overall we have a chance to catch our breath and maybe squeeze in some time to enjoy ourselves!

If you know your Rising sign, please read the horoscope for it too. 😀

Last week’s roadblocks should continue to ease now and reduce your overall frustration levels, Aries, and I’m sure this will be appreciated by those around you. One recommendation I have for you is to be sure to take practical considerations into account when making career related decisions this coming week.

In general this week looks very favorable for you, Taurus, because the focus is on the here and now with no grand schemes and high flying ideas being presented as workable. The simple, practical approach you do so well ought to work fine and bring you well deserved recognition.

If you have felt your mind was getting bogged down in too many picky details lately, Gemini, prepare for a refreshing change this week. A welcome feeling of objectivity and detachment returns to your thinking. Your mind picks up speed and darts around snatching up tasty bits on information once again.

Something many of you enjoy, Cancer, is investigating your family roots and now is a good time to sit down and chat with older family members about the past. You also ought to enjoy the more grounded atmosphere this week too. Consider spending more time this weekend with close friends or your siblings.

Party time is really and truly coming to an end for you after this week, Leo. Don’t worry . . .you will still be able to maintain your optimistic attitude in the days ahead. However, you do need to start paying attention to boring things like your budget and what you need to do improve your earning capacity. There’s always next year!

More favorable attention starts to come your way later this week, Virgo, so please put a nice smile of your face and accept it graciously. Whether you realize it or not, you deserve it! Most of you go out of your way to help others quietly but very effectively. Good for you!

Libra, you can finally look forward to feeling like you are able to make yourself understood again. After weeks of attempting to help others see there is usually more than one side to any issue, you should start to see some progress now as it becomes easier for everyone to be more objective.

Scorpio, the intensity of last week begins to ease now and the pressure to stand firm should begin to relax. It is a good time to reconnect with your network of friends and associates too. An odd situation may develop at work later this week where you might be put in an awkward position with a superior.

The main focus for you, Sagittarius, continues to be your career and long term goals. You might even begin to receive some good reviews for a job well done soon! One thing may become clear later this week is the need to rethink travel plans due to a lack of funds.

On the whole you should have a pretty decent week, Capricorn, and conversations with your employer may go better than you might have anticipated. However be cautious about how you come across if you end up talking about ideas for investing joint resources. Tact will probably be needed . . . desperately!

Aquarius, you are another who ought to sincerely appreciate being able to have rational discussions with people again. As much as you’ve enjoyed the Leo show, you know it had to come to an end sometime. You might wish to encourage your partner to forego some of their more outrageous schemes for now.

Express your appreciation for your significant other, Pisces, because you know they deserve it and also take the time to encourage them to share their hopes and fears with you. As you know, being an active listener who responds with care and compassion can make a big difference.

Venus transitions from Leo to Virgo

On Friday, September 5, Venus’s wild ride in fiery Leo comes to an end and she goes on a much needed retreat in earthy Virgo. What started out on a high note when Venus conjoined Jupiter in Leo went sour when she ran into Mars and Saturn in Scorpio early this week. Venus is resilient in Leo and by the time she enters Virgo she should have recovered much of her usual optimism.

Because Venus is exalted in Pisces, it is considered to be in its fall in Virgo. Quiet, reserved Virgo is a far less exciting place for Venus to visit than Leo but she responds by demonstrating her affection in practical ways. This is no bad thing in my opinion, better than a lot of fine sounding but empty promises! Venus in Virgo has a healing touch and gives some of the best hugs ever. In fact, she has a true gift for tangible expressions of love. Foot massage anyone?

As she takes her turn touring the Outer Planets, the first stop is an opposition to Neptune in Pisces on September 10. Falling in love under Venus-Neptune aspects brings a feeling of spiritual connection with the beloved, a truly lovely thing under the right circumstances. This can be a very rewarding time for creative enterprises because earthy Venus in Virgo is quite good at turning the ephemeral into something real.

When Pluto in Capricorn is trine Venus on September 14, our thoughts may turn from love to money. If you have investment ideas you are considering this is a good influence for putting those in play. Venus-Pluto aspects make me think of old fashioned ideas like dowries too.

A less friendly aspect is the inconjunct to Uranus in Aries on September 17. Aries and Virgo have practically nothing in common and consequently irritate the heck out of one another. Uranus in Aries is exceedingly impatient of details, something Virgo places high value on. The impatience generated by Uranus may cause serious problems in relationships at this time. Last minute changes in plan may not go over well at all.

Saturn in Scorpio is Venus in Virgo’s best friend, totally unlike the situation with Venus in Leo. Scorpio respects Virgo’s sense of propriety and her gentle touch is soothing to this sensitive water sign. Whenever Venus aligns with Saturn in a positive way, talk of commitment is heard and relationships started now could last a very long time. Venus is sextile Saturn in Scorpio on September 20-21 which happens to be the day before the Autumnal Equinox when the Sun enters Libra! Venus will be entering her home sign of Libra on September 29, joining the Sun . . . always a sweet time!

Libra Weekly Horoscopes for August 11, 2014

glorious sunrise 525

After the whole Saturn squaring the Leo Sun and Mercury thing over the weekend, the generally more benign tone to this coming week ought to feel very good. We may be able to enjoy the warmth and generosity of Leo season for a change. There are a couple of changes coming and both are pleasant: Venus leaves watery, sensitive Cancer for the glamour and drama of Leo plus Mercury finally ends up in one of its home signs, Virgo.

Ah, Venus in Leo, queen of the universe! If you don’t think so, just ask her! She’ll set you straight. She leaves quiet, mannerly Cancer for Leo on Tuesday. This year she’ll be conjoining Jupiter on Sunday and won’t that be a big old party! Venus makes an inconjunct to Neptune in Pisces the same day . . . sounds like a recipe for romantic disaster to me with too many people making promises and going overboard on insincere flattery. Staying sober may help prevent a seriously awful hangover on Monday.

A welcome shift is the one Mercury is making from Leo to Virgo. Mercury does quite well in organized, practical Virgo and will be a big help to us as we go about taking care of business. This event takes place on Friday along with a powerful sextile between Mars in Scorpio and earthy Pluto in Capricorn. Having a second planet in earth ought to help settle the Leo extravaganza down to more manageable proportions.

The time from the Full Moon to the New Moon is best spent pulling together loose ends and bringing projects to completion. And most of us probably have plenty of loose ends to deal with after months of fast and furious cardinal energy. I know I have been barely managing to handle only the highest priority concerns for far too long, and there is huge backlog waiting to be dealt with. Thankfully we have no major cardinal aspects coming at us this week and the fixed signs dominate the sky, demanding a more deliberate pace.

The center piece this week is the fascinating inconjunct (quincunx) between Jupiter in Leo and Neptune in Pisces. While there is a definite spiritual side to this one, it can also manifest as a high flying con artist such as those television evangelists who put on an extravagant show while conning the audience into emptying their pocketbooks. When the ultimate showman, Jupiter in Leo, combines forces with the master of illusion, Neptune in Pisces, it can be seriously bad news. If someone asks you to take something or someone on faith this week, ask plenty of pointed questions and demand documentation, especially if they want money. Be careful!

By the way, those Leos who have birthdays from August 12 to August 14 have a special gift in their Solar Returns for the coming year because they will have four planets in Leo. The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Leo should brighten attitudes and bring them good fortune since Venus will be making a waxing conjunction to Jupiter. Enjoy!

Our greatest challenge this week will be staying on task because we may be tempted to kick back and relax. The pressure is off for the moment and there might be more incentives to play than work. All those planets in glorious, indolent Leo are wonderful for going on vacation, if only for a day or so.

If you know your Rising sign, please read the horoscope for it too. 😀

Whether or not you are busying playing or hard at work this week, Aries, is up to you. If you are young, footloose and fancy free, then chances are good you won’t be able to resist having fun. For those who have bills to pay then look for an opportunity for more work showing up later this week.

Taurus, entertaining at home is something you excel at and this week looks very favorable for throwing a splendid party or two. If you are living within a tight budget, be sure to plan ahead and don’t be tempted to splurge when the weekend rolls around. Practice saying “no”!

Being able to sweet talk people is one of your specialties, Gemini, and your knack for coming up with all the right words will be with you now. Be sure to keep track of who you told what because next weekend when you may be tempted to stretch the truth to make a favorable impression it might not work out so well.

The promise of some calmer days probably sounds very good to you, Cancer, since you have been busy putting out fires for some time now. There is a possibility you may begin to see an improvement in your personal income soon but please don’t spend it before it’s in your hands.

Your ability to draw favorable attention to yourself, Leo, may increase even more starting this week, especially if you simply relax and be your naturally warm, friendly self. If you need to project an aura of glamour, you can do that too. Be careful where you aim all that gloriousness!

Best thing about this coming week in your world, Virgo, begins late this week when your mental gears start running at peak efficiency once more. Being able to pick up on all the important details while multi-tasking should begin to fall into place for you. Nice!

If you have been ignoring your circle of friends due to feeling overwhelmed in recent months, Libra, you might be pleasantly surprised to find out they’ve missed your smiling face. Consider accepting an invitation or two though please make sure you don’t over commit yourself for this weekend.

All the hard work you’ve put in recently at work may finally be rewarded, Scorpio, or at least bring you some well deserved recognition. The second half of this week looks particularly good for being able to get your point across clearly and effectively. So much so you may want to soften your tone some.

Sagittarius, staying positive takes far less effort than usual these days and if it rubs off on your friends, family and casual acquaintances so much the better. Starting this week it should become easier for you to handle your professional correspondence and be more organized on the job.

This may seem like an odd thing to suggest to you, Capricorn, because you don’t tend to exaggerate as a rule. If anything you go with understated. However you could find yourself overselling your ideas this week. Don’t worry, this urge will pass soon! Look for solid support from your peers this week.

Take note of the kind of people you are attracting to yourself now, Aquarius, as they may be even more flamboyant than usual. The question is whether or not they will stand up to close inspection. Please don’t take them or yourself too seriously for now and it should work out fine.

If you have been looking into making a vocational change, Pisces, this week could see some interesting options showing up. If you are unsure exactly what is being offered, you might want to talk it over with your significant other before making a final decision. The weekend is a good time for these conversations.

Now it is the Cancer Sun’s turn to fill in the T-Square with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. This event winds up the sky from Monday through Wednesday starting with the Sun-Pluto opposition at 10° and ending with the Sun-Uranus square at 12°. Dare I say this is not a good week to be vacationing with family? Uranus and Pluto both are going to get on the Cancer Sun’s last nerve and all hell may break loose. Please respect other people’s feelings and above all, don’t play the guilt card!

Venus in Leo will feel somewhat put upon this week due to tense exchanges with Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces on Monday followed by Pluto in Capricorn on Friday. However Sunday marks the last aspect to the outer planets with an exhilarating trine to Uranus in Aries. That ought to properly launch to rest of Venus’s stay in Leo and brighten up those you with fire sign personal planets!

Saturn in Scorpio is now at a virtual standstill at 4° Scorpio preparing to station direct on Sunday, 7 July. It will be stationing as part of a Grand Trine with Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer. Scorpio simply does not deal in half-measures so decisions made under this influence will have a profound and lasting impact. If we choose to cut someone or something out of our lives it will probably be permanent. Thankfully both Neptune and Jupiter bring compassion and caring to the table because otherwise Saturn in Scorpio’s knife could cut too deep. Remember this in the months ahead when Saturn is operating alone.

A good week to remember to be extra patient with the shortcomings of our nearest and dearest . . . those are the people who test us the most after all. Retrograde Mercury in Cancer says pay more attention to what is NOT being said and what people do rather than what they say. However the weekend looks pretty decent for family get-togethers.

It’s an “eat your vegetables first” kind of week for you, Aries. Even if you are feeling frustrated up to your eyeballs with family, please do your best to not to stomp all over everyone’s feelings. Your bright spot is the weekend.

It could be hard for you to find your normal comfortable pace now, Taurus. Opposition from your partner might be part of it or social obligations you are not anxious to fulfill may be an issue too. Invite people over on the weekend, you’ll enjoy it.

Other than feeling like you might have overlooked some critical detail, Gemini (and you probably did) life is not too bad. Arguing over money matters early in the week could get quite heated, so please don’t take it out on those you work with.

It is not always easy for you to articulate your thoughts and feelings, Cancer, and if others press you about this now, it will be especially frustrating for you. Do your best to keep your temper and ask for more time as civilly as possible.

Grumpy start to your week too, Leo, with too many people minding your business and attempting to tell you how to live your life. Rise above them and shine everyone on! If you are thinking of asking someone to fill in for you at work . . . don’t.

Planning social activities may take far more time and energy than usual, Virgo, and you might find yourself having to call the same people several times to make connections. Take your time and be patient. You have a lot on your mind these days.

The first part of the week could be tense for you, Libra, and you can choose to take a position and stick to it or simply walk away. The other parties involved are going to keep on fighting it out whether you are present or not.

It might feel like the weight of world has descended on to your shoulders now, Scorpio, and you could be facing very difficult choices. You are not alone in this and will receive help if you reach out for it. Please do so.

You just know your brilliant creative ideas will work, Sagittarius! Nonetheless don’t expect an easy sell to potential investors. The best thing to do is make sure you have all the necessary data on hand and at least one solid recommendation from a backer.

Life in your household does have its interesting moments these days, Capricorn, and this week could bring some more. Rather than going on the attack it may work out better to actively listen to what your partner has to say. If necessary, use the weekend to make peace.

As much as you would love to spend time with your significant other now, Aquarius, that could be hard to pull off due to demands from work or lack of funds. Don’t worry because you are bound to come up with a creative solution on the weekend!

Not the best time to indulge in risk-taking, Pisces, because the consequences could result in unexpected expenses or damage your relationship with some of your peers. A better idea might be to take your sweetheart out for a pleasant meal and good conversation.

If you know your Rising sign, read the horoscope for it too. 😀

Observations: Magnificent Venus in Leo

Glorious Venus in Leo hair!

Glorious Venus in Leo hair!

Lovely Venus leaves Cancer’s quiet, sensitive waters to make her grand entrance into fiery Leo on Thursday, June 27. In Leo, Venus thrives on attention and admiration. She loves looking her best and is willing to do what is necessary to achieve it. It is amazing how many people with this Venus have great hair!

Almost before Venus has time to get comfortable in Leo, she will face off with Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces on 1 July 2013. The most problematical is the square to Saturn. Instead of appreciating her beauty and enjoying the show, Saturn will make her feel uncomfortable with herself and her choices. Scorpio can come off sounding like a disapproving parent with Leo and this will NOT set well. Whether we are being overly critical of our own appearance or someone else’s, please be gentle rather than harsh.

Neptune in Pisces is inconjunct to Venus in Leo. Leo and Pisces may not always understand one another but they do share an appreciation for putting on a good show. Neptune’s love of glamour is something Venus in Leo also gets into. What can be an issue is together they can get carried away by feeding the drama and romance way past the point of sanity. However there is nothing wrong with enjoying the fantasy as long as all parties set boundaries ahead of time.

On 5 July, Venus will be inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn shortly before making a fabulous trine to Uranus in Aries on 7 July. It is unhealthy controlling behaviors on the part of lovers that Pluto can inspire. Capricorn and Leo disagree about what is acceptable when out in the public eye. Leo finds Capricorn a bit stuffy and uptight whilst Capricorn is uncomfortable with Leo’s natural flamboyance. Naturally Uranus in Aries is going to right there egging Leo on to further extravagances! The time for all parties to examine their expectations is before heading out the door . . . not at the party.

Once Venus makes it past the outer planet patrol, she will have plenty of time to shine and bring joy to many people before she leaves Leo for Virgo on 22 July. Oddly enough that is day the Sun makes its annual ingress into Leo.

I love this painting by Rossetti called Lady Lilith. She seems the personification of Venus in Leo, combing her magnificent mane of fiery red hair. 😀
