An unsettling week is in store and we will need to keep moving quickly to avoid getting run over. There is the second Full Moon in Aquarius to contend with and the Sun leaving fiery Leo for calm, earthy Virgo in tandem with Mercury. The shift from Leo to Virgo is rather abrupt this year and we may find ourselves scrambling to shift into work mode.
The Uranus-Pluto square is being triggered once more by Jupiter in Cancer squaring Uranus in Aries on Wednesday and Venus squaring Pluto in Capricorn on Saturday (see my post on Venus in Libra). As uncomfortable as these aspects might make us, they will help get us moving again. Rather than fight to stay in our little ruts, maybe it’s time to venture out and try something new. The downside of Jupiter’s involvement is the need to be right, to feel our opinion is the only one and attempt to force those opinions on others. Very bad idea!
Neptune in Pisces is up to his usual tricks, generating fog and creating confusion via an inconjunct to poor Venus in Libra on Monday and opposing Mercury in Virgo on the weekend. It might sound mean but verify any sad tales of woe before offering your support, particularly financial support. We may be more vulnerable than usual to other people’s sob stories.
Having the Sun and Mercury conjoined in Virgo ought to prove very useful for sorting out our thoughts and feelings. Virgo enjoys solving knotty problems and directing us to the best place to find help. After living with the fluidity of Cancer and the drama of Leo, Mercury is more than happy to return to practical, well grounded Virgo.
The echoes of family drama and angst may reverberate most of the week for you, Aries, and it would be in your best interest to detach yourself from those if possible. All too soon your focus will shift to managing your daily routines most effectively.
The temptation to let others know how you think they should be running their lives might be overwhelming now, Taurus, and as I mentioned above, a very bad idea. Tend to household matters during the week so you can enjoy yourself on the weekend.
Wouldn’t hurt to plan on unexpected expenses this week, Gemini, nor would be hurt to reevaluate how much you’re spending on entertaining. Conversations with family members may take priority soon. Make sure to stay on topic this weekend or things could get really fuzzy.
Personal plans and objectives may run afoul of last minute changes at work, Cancer, and this will probably not set well with you. However I would suggest waiting until next week to have a serious discussion about these issues when it should be easier to gather your thoughts.
Your personal party is about to come to a close for the year, Leo. I know you’ll miss being center stage but you really do need to take time to review your financial situation. Opportunities to do so could start nagging at you this weekend.
It is your turn to shine, Virgo, and I know you will though in your own unique way. One thing to keep in mind on what can be a very enjoyable weekend is the need to not take what others tell you at face value.
What with one thing or another, Libra, you are probably sick and tired of being caught in the middle. This could come to a crescendo midweek though you still need to stay on guard. Be careful of manipulative types this weekend.
After this week work demands may taper off some whilst your need to network with your peers increases in importance, Scorpio. Don’t get sucked into debates over politics and religion this week. That would be a huge waste of your precious time.
Play time is about over for you, Sagittarius, and it is time to refocus your attention on your next career move. The urge to do something fun but reckless could strike you hard this week. Think twice before you jump, OK?
One would think after all the volatility in your home life you would be prepared for more, Capricorn. This time it may involve your partner who could blow matters all out of proportion. At least your working life is looking a little more pleasant.
This week might bring you another opportunity to see your path ahead clearly, Aquarius, so make the most of it. If you have been wrangling with coworkers or your employees lately, that may come to a head now. Be careful what you say to them.
Your latest creative impulse is amazing, Pisces, but it could set you back financially. Be sure to run the numbers before you commit. If you’re single, you may meet someone quite special whom you could feel a very strong connection.
If you know your Rising sign, read the horoscope for it too.
On Friday, August 16, Venus gracefully enters her home sign of Libra bringing a much needed breath of air. This is where she is most comfortable, surrounding herself with beauty and charming all who enter her sphere of influence. The challenge for Venus this year is she has to deal with unpleasant interactions with the outer planets beginning with an inconjunct to Neptune in Pisces on Monday, August 19.
In some ways, the inconjunct to Neptune works as both Libra and Pisces have a romantic streak and prefer the dream to the reality. However watery Neptune in Pisces is way too self-sacrificing for rational Venus in Libra. Whilst this Venus can acknowledge the concept of giving all for Love, if this also involves dirt and discomfort, forget it! Libra can be a slave to creature comforts like hot and cold running water and indoor plumbing. She is capable of roughing to please her chosen partner but not for any length of time.
The next obstacle Venus encounters is a square to Pluto in Capricorn on August 24. Here she may run into someone obsessing over her as well as having an overwhelming need to control her every movement and choice. Venus in Libra may go along with this for awhile in order to keep the peace but push her too far and you’ll know it. Think hurricanes and tornadoes. This is especially true at this time because Venus is taking her turn completing a T-Square with Uranus in Aries (opposing Venus in Libra on August 26) and Pluto. Money issues may play a role this time around causing relationships to founder.
A square to Jupiter in Cancer on August 27 is the last challenging aspect to Venus. Venus-Jupiter squares are a real mixed bag. Some astrologers see any link up between these two planets as favorable but I’m not so sure about that. Too much of a good thing can be problematical too. When these two planets hook up it is very easy to go overboard and indulge far past the point of satiation. Hangovers, anyone?
August 27 is also when Mars leaves Cancer for exuberant Leo, something Venus in Libra will welcome with open arms. Air has a way of breathing life into fire. Libra loves bright, cheerful Leo and happily plays audience to Leo’s delight. Love and romance takes on a lighter note and people will be in the mood to play for awhile.
During the last two weeks of Venus’s stay in Libra, she will only have to deal with the Moon’s changing moods. This pleasant interlude will come to an end on September 10 when Venus shifts into brooding Scorpio and the water level rises once more.
Talk about a wake-up call! This second Full Moon at 28° 11′ Aquarius on 20 August 2013, 06:45 PM PDT is a loud one! Change is in the air and even those of us who actively resist it need to come to terms with the necessity to make some serious adjustments in attitude.
Aquarius asks us to expand our concept of family and embrace the notion we are first and foremost citizens of the world. It supports all sorts of humanitarian causes and promotes the need to preserve and protect the environment. The internet acts as the nervous system linking people to one another almost instantaneously, or so it seems. It seems like having a second Full Moon in Aquarius comes as a reminder about all of these things and more.
The brilliant Leo Sun conjoins both Ceres and Mercury. Those celebrities who use their moment in the spotlight to promote worthy causes and draw attention to people in need are an example of this warm, caring stellium. Ceres in Leo nurtures others by encouraging them to find their inner child and celebrate their creativity. Mercury is there to spread the word far and wide. Leo’s knack for dramatic presentation ensures everyone will pay attention to what they have to share.
Even though this is the first lunation in several months with equal numbers of planets in fire and air as there are in earth and water, there is little ease in this chart. Lovely Venus has reached her home in airy Libra but she is hemmed about by Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. Mars in Cancer is snipping at the luminaries and Jupiter in Cancer is exactly square Uranus in Aries whilst still in opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. In other words there is little real peace to be found . . . unfortunately.
If you’re looking for love and romance, I’d suggest waiting until the end of August when Venus in Libra will finally reach the end of the outer planet obstacle course and Mars will be in Leo. Between Neptune’s ability to deceive and Saturn’s hard truths, poor Venus doesn’t stand a chance on this Full Moon.
Mars in Cancer is semi-sextile the Leo stellium and inconjunct the Aquarius Moon and acts as an irritant to both. A possible manifestation is the inability to get comfortable. As a result we may find ourselves initiating changes to relieve the discomfort and given Mars is in family oriented Cancer, these changes may be family related. We might also become aware of deep seated differences in opinion with our extended family members and because there is little chance of resolving those, we may have to resort to agreeing to disagree.
Speaking of changes, Jupiter in Cancer squaring Uranus in Aries is bound to launch more than a few. We are fully in the active phase and as annoying as this aspect can be, it will probably help clear any lingering stagnation left from the complacent Jupiter-Pluto opposition a couple of weeks ago. I would caution about taking on too much under this influence. Jupiter rarely recognizes limitations and this will be exacerbated by Uranus. Sometimes a firm ‘no’ can be a very good thing!
The only benign influence still at work is the fading trine between Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. This wonderful trine has been quietly working in the background since late last Autumn, promoting applied compassion. It will be missed.
Now that we have been jarred awake, it is time to look around our lives with fresh eyes. Between now and the New Moon in precise Virgo on September 5, we have an opportunity to evaluate where we are and where we wish to go next. Choose what to throw out and what to keep with great care and lots of love.
On a personal note: Major mixed bag for me . . . the Aquarius Moon is trine my Libra Sun whilst Mars in Cancer is making a waxing square to it (Mars will enter Leo on August 27). Great if I need to stand up for myself I guess. Mars-Sun squares can be over-stimulating and therefore exhausting. Jupiter moving to square my Libra is not going to help much with that either.
Saturn in Scorpio is in the midst of its final pass over my natal Jupiter and I’m very curious to see what happens once this one is history. Of course, given my Jupiter is in the twelfth any positive results may be invisible to anyone but me. *grin*
This is the transition week between Jupiter in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn to squaring Uranus in Aries on August 21. We may find ourselves feeling somewhat queasy as a result. The opposition ended up so well balanced it created a strong feeling of stasis and we all know the square to Uranus will be anything but. When Mercury in Leo trines Uranus in Aries on Wednesday is when I believe we might begin to feel the balance shift and perhaps those who have felt stalemated by circumstances will begin to see change arrive.
Before Mercury enjoys the trine to Uranus, it must take another hit via an inconjunct to Pluto in Capricorn on Tuesday. Capricorn doesn’t usually appreciate Leo’s love of a dramatic presentation when they feel simple facts will do the job. Leo’s flamboyance grates on buttoned down Cappy nerves.
From this airy Libra’s perspective the most important event of the week is Venus leaving calm earthy Virgo for her home sign of Libra on Friday, August 16. Not only is Libra a very happy place for Venus but it also means we will finally have a planet in air once more. Of course, Lady Venus will have to put up with snark from all the outer planets including Jupiter in Cancer before she gets to dance freely. I plan on devoting a post to my favorite planet later this week . . . she deserves it!
The trine between Mercury in Leo and Uranus in Aries takes place at 12°, energizing the fire signs as well as stirring up the cardinal signs. Aries folk will probably be very pleased with the increased activity though it may grate on Cancer and Capricorn nerves. Libras may feel some pressure too but with Venus on their side, they should be able to manage.
Keep an eye out for fast moving events and unexpected opportunities cropping up. We might have to make some choices on the fly and this can be hard for some.
The desire to indulge your inner child could run smack into work obligations early in the week, Aries, and this conflict promises to increase as the week goes on. Whether or not you decide to blow off work for play is up to you.
You were the most likely fan of last week’s stasis, Taurus, and probably the least likely to enjoy the potential upheaval that begins this week. The people who won’t play by your rules may surprise you . . . unpleasantly. Practice forbearance please.
Now you are always up for some new and different, Gemini, and whilst you may find the first couple of days of the week uncomfortable, you should begin to hit your stride later this week. Your lively sense of humor will amuse your peers.
Keep a weather eye out at work for possible sources of disruption, Cancer, so you can side step the worst. The thing is when the fireworks die down you could find yourself looking at more income. That never hurts, does it? *grin*
Other than maybe getting into with coworkers over micro-management issues, Leo, you should fare very well this week. Your sense of adventure is highlighted and by the weekend, your ability to sweet talk just about anyone will revive. Enjoy your moment in the sun.
Be wary when discussing ownership of creative ideas early in the week, Virgo. There is the possibility of being blind-sided in that regard. You should be able to work something out in short order thru legal channels. Think outside the box, OK?!
Your one-on-one relationships continue to be a source of surprises, both pleasant and unpleasant, Libra. This week those surprises are more likely to be happy ones than not. Your spirits will get a lift late in the week when some nice compliments might come your way.
Coming on too controlling in your language at work might not work out so well for you, Scorpio, but you’ll catch your error quickly. You may receive support you didn’t expect from coworkers thru this episode. Spend time alone on the weekend to restore yourself.
By being cautious where you spend your money early in the week, Sagittarius, you could have a positive outcome later. Your knack for seeing the big picture will come in handy, helping you solve a tricky creative problem. Socializing looks good on the weekend.
Finding a fair but firm tone is not easy for you these days, Capricorn, and this week talking to financial management types might make this harder. After midweek these issues can become easier to resolve, especially if you channel your most tactful family member.
If you wish discussions with your partner to have a happy result, Aquarius, delay any important conversations until after midweek when finding the right inspiration will be easier. In general your one-on-one relationships are a source of pleasure to you now.
As you often do, Pisces, you are drifting along listening to your own drummer these days. Sticking with your usual routines and ignoring input from your peers is probably a good way to go. This might literally pay off for you.
If you know your Rising sign, read the horoscope for it too.
There is a New Moon Solar Eclipse on 13 November 2012, 02:09 PM PST at 21° 57′ Scorpio and the closest aspect in the lunation chart is a square between retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius and newly direct Neptune in Pisces. Something Scorpio usually excels at is digging up all the dirt and knowing exactly what the facts are, no matter how unpleasant. This time Scorpio discernment runs smack into a Neptune generated fog bank. Will all the nastiness now be reveled? I tend to believe it will be. So if you have been keeping important secrets or playing fast and loose with the truth, your moment of reckoning could be upon you.
Who amongst us will be most affected by the Mercury-Neptune square? Those folks with personal planets and/or Ascendant at 0° in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces). In the interests of being fair, most did not set out to intentionally mislead others, more than likely they were given bad information in the first place. This is an excellent time to remind everyone to ALWAYS carefully check your sources and verify whether or not you’re working with good data. Is a heartfelt apology or two in order?
The next closest aspect is an inconjunct between stern Saturn in Scorpio and rebellious Uranus in Aries. Since both planets also aspect Pluto in Capricorn – Pluto is sextile Saturn and square Uranus. Here the powerful mutual reception between Saturn and Pluto tilts the scales in their favor, putting Uranus in a less than favorable place. It seems to me the sheer force of the Saturn-Pluto pragmatism is likely to force more idealistic Uranus in Aries to slow down and come a little further into reality. Maybe we’ll see some examples of productive idealism . . . you know, where what at first looks like a crack brained scheme turns out to work quite well.
Disrespecting the feminine with Ceres in Cancer supported by a Grand Trine with Saturn in Scorpio and Chiron in Pisces is a very bad idea. Uranus in Aries exactly square Ceres may tempt some to throw a few smart remarks out. If so, those who do best remember what happened to those men who made nasty comments about rape in the US elections . . . they lost, big time. Ceres is always a force to be reckoned with as Pluto knows to his sorrow.
It is worth noting the first lunation with the Saturn-Pluto sextile within orb, activating their mutual reception (Saturn rules Capricorn and Pluto rules Scorpio), is also a powerful Solar Eclipse. Looks like we’ll be getting our first real taste of how this mutual reception will play out. As for those who will be most directly affected? Chances are if you have planets or Angles from 4° to 7° in the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) or the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), it will be you. I may be naïve but I do feel when the dust settles . . . it is Saturn after all . . . and we realize we’ve survived, this sextile will prove very beneficial for most folks.
The third closest aspect is a semi-sextile between Venus in equitable Libra and the New Moon in Scorpio. Can’t say this looks like too much fun for Venus though she may be able to soften the Scorpio intensity some. Libra and Scorpio don’t have a lot in common. Scorpio is way too willing to air Venus in Libra’s dirty laundry . . . very embarrassing for this ultra civilized Venus. The best outcome is Libra tact will allow Scorpio to reveal long hidden agendas without totally devastating all involved. Maybe.
For creative folk we have an out-of-sign sextile between Mars in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces. The case here is one of enough differences to spark ideas with enough harmony to grease the gears. Mars is also semi-sextile Mercury in Sagittarius by the numbers though both planets are in the same sign. Like Jazz, the dissonance eventually resolves into harmony then slides back into dissonance . . . challenging but never boring!
Jupiter in Gemini stands alone this time and his best option is to keep everyone’s spirits up and promote good will.
Best tactic for this powerful New Moon in Scorpio is to work hard at being as real and authentic as possible. Take the high road and treat everyone you meet with kindness and respect. This is so not the time to be mean and small minded because doing so may come back to haunt those who are for a very long time. Scorpio may forgive but they never forget!
On a personal note: With this New Moon and North Node straddling my Mercury-Ascendant in Scorpio, I’m taking the authentic thing very seriously because it would appear I’m going to be quite visible for a change. The thought makes me a little uncomfortable, as it should. Fortunately Jupiter is still widely trine my Moon, helping me maintain my sense of humor. *grin*
Mars in Sagittarius is exactly sextile my Chiron in Libra as well as sextile my Libra Sun. Looks favorable for seeing my energy levels begin to pick up post Saturn conjunct Sun. I didn’t realize how much having Saturn conjunct my Sun had worn me down until the effect started to fade. What a transit!
