Last week Mars in Virgo made the first of three passes to the closest aspect in my natal chart, an inconjunct between Uranus in Gemini and Mars/Mercury in Scorpio. Mars in Virgo is sextile to my Mars/Mercury in Scorpio but squares Uranus in Gemini, the other end of this inconjunct. Another factor is Mars/Mercury also conjoins my Ascendant from the twelfth house side.
All of us who have inconjuncts involving the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) natally are challenged because there is simply no easy way to resolve the issues represented by the signs connected by this aspect. What I finally realized is the best outcome is often non-standard. In other words, we add 2 + 2 and come up with 5 . . . and it works for us.
Natal Yods with two inconjuncts focusing on one planet are the most challenging because they are relentless in forcing the individual to deal with the reality the conventional approach often fails to produce the desired result. The Sun as the apex says be yourself regardless, the Moon says please accept your emotional response is atypical, Mercury means your thinking process is decidedly different, Venus hints your style is out of sync with the current mode and Mars says the way you get things done is effective but unique!
For instance, my inconjunct directly affects my physical well-being and since I enjoyed good health most of my adult life (thanks to Mars conjunct the ASC), it wasn’t until the last few years that I began to realize I needed to be very proactive in assessing and dealing with my health concerns. Treating digestive issues with the standard products to reduce stomach acid no longer worked and I went to a naturopath who recommended adding more HCL, which did help. Because I’m the sort who always wants to know “why”, I asked but didn’t get any helpful answers from the doctors. Eventually my own research led me to believe most of my health issues were related to menopause and the subsequent drop in estrogen. About three months ago, I started taking a low dose, topical estrogen product . . . and it was enough to kick start my stomach into producing HCL once more. None of the doctors I saw told me to expect this. Thinking outside the conventional approach (Uranus inconjunct Mercury) produced the best results but if I didn’t trust my own process the outcome may not have been as good.
For artists, musicians and writers, having a natal inconjunct can be great. It helps them express their creativity in new and interesting ways. They are also good at turning mistakes into opportunities and using flaws constructively.
The inconjunct is less common than the five major aspects (conjunctions, sextiles, trines, squares and oppositions) but it packs a big punch if you have one or two. I feel it is very important for those of us who live with this awkward aspect to cherish our uniqueness and remember to respect what works for us even if it is non-standard.

All of you lovers out there will be delighted to learn this week romance will return! I know it’s been quite awhile since we’ve seen astral influences conducive to affairs of the heart. This week Venus in Aquarius will be forming a waxing conjunction with Neptune in Aquarius, exact on Friday shortly before entering Pisces where Venus is exalted. Grab your rose colored glasses and enjoy delights of falling in love with Love.
The week starts off with the very pleasant Full Moon in Cancer and the upbeat note continues from there. A Sun-Mars trine in earth is exact on 12 January and great for taking care of practicalities. If you need to dig up all the facts, Mercury conjoining Pluto in Capricorn on 13 January is ready and willing to help with that.
Supporting the Venus-Neptune conjunction on the 13th is a constructive trine from Venus to Saturn in Libra, followed by Venus in Pisces sextile Jupiter in Taurus the next day. Venus is busy spreading her love and kisses everywhere! It is a wonderful time to kick back and relax because we probably won’t be interested in doing much else.
Enjoy this vacation from stressful skies because those will return all too soon.

Your energy levels will be excellent this week, Aries, making it much easier to handle whatever your boss sends your way at work. This weekend is a great time to get together with your friends and tackle a project benefiting the community as a whole.

This is a great “feel good” week for you, Taurus, though it may revolve more around long term career goals coming together than meeting a new lover (though that isn’t impossible either). Do set aside some time this weekend for your favorite form of relaxation.

There is a good chance you will fall in love with the idea of taking a trip to someplace warm and peaceful, Gemini. Even if it seems like an impossible dream, it won’t hurt to look into it because you could be pleasantly surprised.

Listen closely to what your partner, business or personal, has to tell you, Cancer, because it may inspire you to come up with innovative solutions to a nagging problem. This is also a good time to sit down with family and renew those connections.
You are full of romantic thoughts about your partner this week, Leo. In fact you may even be considering renewing vows if you are already married or taking the plunge if you aren’t. No one does romantic gestures better than you do!
What a perfect time to schedule a long weekend at your favorite place for renewing your commitment to staying healthy, Virgo. Choose some place peaceful and quiet to sooth your nervous system which may be feeling somewhat frayed around the edges these days.
If you don’t have several invitations from friends and lovers for a romantic night out this week, Libra, it would be a shame. You are in the mood to enjoy yourself and you would love share this with someone special. Have a great time!

Home is where you want to be this week, Scorpio, whether it’s to spend time alone enjoying some peace and quiet or some quality time with your lover. If you have business to take care, know your mind will be particularly sharp now.
Staying focused is going to be challenging for you, Sagittarius, because your mind will be full of wonderful, creative ideas demanding to be turned into reality. Depend on your peers to back you up if you need help with that. They understand where you’re coming from.

You won’t have any trouble staying sharp and focused now, Capricorn. Steady, consistent performance on the job may translate into improved income for you and if you can, spread your good fortune to those in need. Take time to enjoy yourself Saturday.

You are glowing these days, Aquarius, drawing favorable attention anytime you are out in public. This is a perfect time to improve your appearance, get a good haircut and buy some new clothes. If you need to have your picture taken, do it this week!

If you feel the need to withdraw from the world and retreat into your private space this week, Pisces, then do so because you will emerge revitalized and feeling great. Plan something special for Saturday with your significant other and you won’t be disappointed.

One would think under this Full Moon at 18° 26′ Cancer on 8 January 2012 at 11:30 PM PDT, how we feel would be highlighted but that is not the case this time. The Moon is the only body in water in a chart dominated by earth and air so we will be aware of our emotions without being ruled by them. Very nice if you think about it!
Mars in Virgo creates a harmonious pattern with the Sun in Capricorn and the Cancer Moon, allowing us to focus on practicalities and get down to work. It will be simple to keep all the necessary bit and pieces sorted in order to accomplish our goals.
An excellent use of this Full Moon is analyzing your family’s daily routines and making adjustments in order to improve health and well being. Make time to take a walk together and vow as a group to keep high fat/sugary foods out of the house. Drink more water and less soda or fruit juice. You may want to start out with short term goals that are easy to attain and let everyone gradually adjust to their new life style. After all, leading a healthy life style is the best route to good health that lasts.
Saturn, Capricorn’s ruler, continues to work with Neptune in Aquarius with an additional bonus this lunation of Venus, Libra’s ruler, conjoining sympathetic Neptune. Aquarius and Libra are both air signs and both take an intellectual approach to problem solving. The key to maximizing the benefits of this aspect is to align what is good for each individual with the greater good of the collective. Small sacrifices as individuals often end up helping the many. Well run charities that care for those in need are an example of how this works. Many people making small donations end up helping provide food, shelter and clothing for those without those basic necessities. Be generous in your giving whether it is time, goods or money.
Mercury is newly arrived in Capricorn after spending the past couple of months in blunt Sagittarius. Conversations will take on a serious tone and hopefully a lower volume. We could still see some contentiousness due to an exact square to Uranus in Aries, toned down some by a trine to earthy, genial Jupiter in Taurus. Best outcome here is to utilize Uranus’s influence to come up with creative solutions based firmly in reality as demanded by Capricorn and Taurus. The trick is to be flexible and open to all possibilities . . . not easy.
Pluto in Capricorn sits on the sidelines for now and I, for one, have no problem with that. He’ll have plenty to say in the coming months!
After a string of intense lunations, this Full Moon in Cancer comes as a very pleasant surprise. The tone is calm, focused and grounded with sympathetic overtones. Other than a tendency for our minds to race ahead of our mouths, this is a wonderful opportunity to spread goodwill and seek agreement rather than discord.
On a personal note: I get a fun combination of kisses from the Saturn-Neptune-Venus trine and a firm kick in the backside from the Sun and Moon forming a T-Square with my Libra Moon. Mars in Virgo is exactly square my natal Uranus, triggering the inconjunct between Uranus and my Mars-Mercury in Scorpio. No slacking allowed for this astrologer! So I guess it’s time to remind all who read here I am open for business and if you would like my feedback on navigating 2012’s transits or need help with your relationships, both business and personal, contact me using the form on my Personal Reports Page.

Even though Mars in Virgo won’t be stationing retrograde at 23° 05′ Virgo until 23 January (the same day as the New Moon in Aquarius), it is starting to noticeably slow down. Usually Mars takes about two days to move a degree and now it’s up to six days and will spend ten days at its station degree. When we need patience the most, it will be hardest to come by.
Mars is currently transiting my tenth and is in the process of making the first of three passes sextile my natal Mars-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio. By the weekend I will be experiencing the first of three passes of Mars squaring my natal Uranus . . . triggering my natal Uranus inconjunct Mars-Mercury. The “twitches” have already commenced and I need to take extra care to move with deliberation thus avoiding accidents. I foresee a few bumps and bruises in the days ahead. **sigh**
The sextile is great! It keeps things moving without going completely overboard and sharpens my mind wonderfully. The catch is Uranus and its need to push the envelope. What can happen is my mind runs way ahead of my tongue and my speech can be a bit garbled. Writing is not so bad because it can be edited though mistakes may slip by unnoticed because I get in too big a hurry.
If you have planets and Angles around 21 to 23 degrees in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), this Mars station will get your attention. You could be flooded with urgent communications or need to deal with mountains of nitpicky paperwork, have the urge to fly the country or just want to strangle your overly amped partner. Whatever comes your way, please do your best to be patient and kind in dealing with your own feelings of exasperation or other people’s foibles. Here’s wishing us all luck with that!

Thankfully we have a calm week to take care of business and get back into the swing of things after the holiday bustle and distractions. I love these periods when the Moon makes its rounds, touching the various planets lightly and we don’t have to handle major aspect patterns.
On the weekend, Mercury will finally be leaving Sagittarius after an extended stay. Before it leaves it will be sextile Saturn in Libra and Neptune in Aquarius, forming a small harmonious triangle with those two planets. What a great influence for coming up with brilliant ideas and being able to clearly see how to implement them. Shortly after Mercury enters pragmatic earthy Capricorn it will trine Jupiter in Taurus and square Uranus in Aries, a less stable influence than the triangle but still conducive to problem solving. Take notes before those ideas slip away!
One other aspect in play for the weekend is a very awkward inconjunct between Venus in Aquarius and Mars in Virgo. What if anything do these two signs have in common? Well, they both tend to live in their heads though Aquarius leans towards the cerebral and Virgo prefers to use its sharp mental abilities for practical purposes. Definitely not good for creating a romantic atmosphere in any way shape or form!
So shake off the post holiday blahs and take up the threads of your everyday life once more. It is Capricorn season and there is plenty to do!

This is an ideal time for you to take a good long look at your long term goals, Aries, particularly regarding your career and where you want to go with it. You will continue to be prodded to make major adjustments as the year progresses.

If an opportunity presents its self allowing you to help others, Taurus, please take it as it will reflect well on you. This is also a great time to establish new, healthy routines and work off those holiday treats you enjoyed so much!

Your ability to come up with great, workable ideas will be working overtime this weekend, Gemini. Share your thoughts with others to make sure someone remembers them. Your mind is likely to be working at top speed and you’ll love it!

Something to consider this week, Cancer, is negotiating a sane schedule with your co-workers that will give all of you more time at home. This is one of those instances where a measure of altruism will go a long way for all involved.
After a productive work week, Leo, you will want to relax and enjoy yourself. One way to ensure this is to get in touch with your partner early on to make sure they are free. Plan on plenty of lively and interesting conversation.
If one of your New Year’s resolutions includes improving your health and well-being, Virgo, working it into your busy routines can be a challenge. Fortunately for you, this is a great time to do just that, so get started hammering out the details..
You may be feeling unusually well grounded and practical this week, Libra, making this an excellent time for you to organize and prioritize your creative projects. If you need to consult with those closest to you, please do so as they will be quite supportive.

For you, Scorpio, this is a great time to schedule a block of quality time for yourself. You know you need to do this to be clear about what is of greatest value to you moving forward. No need to leave home either.
You may be amazed at how many people see you as a source of inspiration these days, Sagittarius. You have a knack for coming up with very good ideas for benefitting the collective as a whole. Speak up and share your thoughts!

Even working in the background as you often do, Capricorn, you do have a great instinct for putting together a working model to benefit both yourself and your employer. Make sure you are being fair to all parties involved for the best results.

If there is one thing you truly understand, Aquarius, it is how to work within groups and organizations for the greater good of the collective. Your thoughts about long term goals and aspirations will find an interested audience. Step up and go for it.

Your ideas about how to reach out and offer better services to those in need will be received well by those in authority, Pisces. Take your time to put together the best presentation you can and start working your magic. You can do it!.
